Actually Brett, Crit's right, those brake lines don't leak that much. It's just that damn "R-Magic" decal you have to put on your car, when it could'a been "Re-Speed".

lol. I'm really just hoping they'll be better than the 2nd hand, 24 year old brake lines on my FC now!

I asked Billy for another dual-belt alternator pulley, so there's a excuse for a Re-Speed decal

Hell, you can push your stuff on me, Billy! When I have anything resembling money again, I will need to upgrade my worn out stock brake lines with stainless ones. So long as it's not rape compared to what I'd pay elsewhere, I'd rather give you the business.

Update on Wanda: Had to bump up my idle nearly 200rpm because it was idling too low and dying. I expected this when summer rolled back around.

It's difficult to tell yet, but I think my brake booster vacuum lines are actually just standard hose with no check valve.........

The new, stiffer motor and transmission mounts are quite nice.

I de-strobed my strobe lights because the joke was no longer funny.

I somehow managed nearly 25mpg. For whatever reason, I think it's due to the amount of 2-cycle oil I added to the gas tank. The tank in question got nearly 8oz instead of the usual 4oz.. So this tank I'm on now also received 8oz, and so far it seems like I'm headed to decent numbers yet again. I'm not driving it any differently from normal, so we'll see what's up over the course of a few tanks to see if this trick holds out.

Now that the weather is heating up nicely, my brakes are nice and loud. Is it pathetic that I like the noise?

Kristy has an awesome new fog horn.

I cleaned up the Maxima, wrote an ad, and even made a video in preparation to sell it... and now I don't want to. I should know by now that when I do all of that work and start writing one of my award winning car ads, I remember why I loved the car in the first place... Though, if I find a super clean 'vert, a decent Z32 300zx with under 200k, or a TII of the right color.. I'll happily trade. With the exception of the TII, all must have working A/C.

School sucks, life's a bitch, and Mickey Mouse is just another ******' rat!

That is all..

Mickey Mouse was an important part of my upbringing Collin, watch your mouth. I was in love with Annette and if you knew anything about history you would know she didn't make it with a rat.

Nice wheel Ray!

Billy, I know, but I didn't think to wonder if you guys carried SS lines that would work on an FC.

Smokey's update:

I should have it finished by this weekend!

So last night I was stopped at a red light and I got rear ended by what I am assuming was a drunk driver. I pulled up to the red light next to an Acura integra and was sitting waiting for it to change for about 20 secods, then I suddenly see these fast approaching headlights in my tear view and I'm thinking "are they going to stop? Then when I realized they weren't going to I let off the brake and was about to try and make a quick right turn at the light to get out of the way, I got hi into the middle of the intersection. Suddenly the cross traffic was coming at me from both the left and right now so I put it into second to clear te redlight and get out of the intersection. I pull into A gas station right there and then the ************ who hit me took off.... I called the cops and apparently the Acura who was next to me had chased the Taurus and called the cops and they got him. The integra owner then told the cops what happened as a witness so I don't know what is going to happen. I'll try to get some pics up if I can but I busted a tail light, my bumper got fucked hard, and the rear driver's quarter pannel is fucked, so much so that the door hits the edge of the door jam when closed. As far as I can tell the car is still driving ok but it feels like the rear Axel is dragging or catching on something, like I need more throttle input to go, and when I lift the car slows quicker. I'm pissed, this is my third rx7 and this time the damage was in no way my fault.

Sweet, let me go to a dyno because "Razor" sent me. Sounds reputable. Another guy "Shank" told me about a dyno I should go to as well.

I was looking forward to seeing the new Sexy Pants II.

Sounds like maybe a bent rear link or two. That closing the door issue
sounds more serious than the axle issue to me.

Good luck, I hope it all works out for the best.

Technically it is 50% your fault since you decided to get into the car and trust the rest of the idiots out there. But yeah that sucks man. Sounds like a trip to a frame shop is needed to check alignment of the frame. ( Given that the rear quarter has been pushed forward enough to touch/close the door gap.)

Did you get the info of the other driver from the police? Sorry for your loss(es).

Dave

Actually saw an insurance company argue that with a coworker. Said if he hadn't been driving, there wouldn't have been an accident. So they were only going to pay half or something. Didn't end well for them.

But yeah, that sucks man.

Chris, sounds like you need a new shell. Insurance won't pay anything on such and old car - guaranteed to be totalled. I remember someone, maybe Billy, posting a link to a red shell on CL in the last few days....

I am not looking forward to another shell swap.... I have a feeling I'm going to get an incredibly small totalled check from insurance(made even smaller after I buy back my own car) and then I'll have to buy another shell, and repeat what we just did 6 months ago..

Hey guys! I still am humping billy's leg over that steering rack. Telling every 1st gen owner it is mandatory to buy LOL! I can believe the difference it has made and how much fun I had on the dragon with it!
Hope you guys are doing great, Crit, it was great to meet you this year! Hopefully sometime I can make it down finally for a meet!
