Once I get a radio that'll be the plan. Until then, I guess I'll just deal...

And the FB is sweet so far. Mostly because it actually works. Even though it hiccuped a little bit and stalled when I pulled into ihop, but we believe it was simply the low amount of fuel allowed sediment to block up the filter....

At least that's what we hope.

I will. Promise. Btw. For some reason the right turn signal won't stay on. It would on the way home, but when I got off work, it suddenly stopped. If I hold it up, it stays, but other than that, it drops back...any ideas?

Probably the turn signal assembly is wearing out. They are reasonable available, $20 on ebay if you can't find one locally. I've got a spare stock Clarion upgrade we can set you up for sound with, add to the conversion of your GS to a GS(L). Looks and sounds like this. I'm not sure if it will fit in the 83 console but Let me know if interested.

That's some jazzy music Ray. And I work at Fry's, so I can get a discount on a head unit, I just gotta figure out how to wire it up. I'm not used to working with home speaker wire in a car...

8 sec - 13b VW bug

Crit - here is a couple video's of the rotary powered VW bug from Japtrix that we were talking about! Still trying to tune it but - its a 9 sec 1/4 ride and has dipped into the 8's a few times. 2nd video it goes 8.97 and still needs tuning. They are using a FD 13b with a HUGE turbo and a VW Mendeola MD5 trans ($9,495.00).

So it's not been a good night...

It's 5:24am and we just got back to Brett's house. I made the mistake of leaving the strainer in the gun and the metallic flake basically doesn't exist in the paint. Sanded down the base coat a bit because the orange peel was atrocious, which was necessary to lay down the clear but it still looks like ***. Started laying down the clear annnnnnd - The rear bumper cover face planted into the floor, tacking up every bit of **** that was on the floor, ruining the finish completely.

The front bumper cover looks O.K. but because the basecoat is such crappy quality and I clearly didn't set my gun up correctly, it's just monochromatic. Joy...

Not sure what I'm doing with the rear bumper cover at this point, as it will need to be completely stripped to fix it. I may spray bomb it. To be honest I get better results with spray paint anyways..

Learning experience? Sure. Fun? No. Good results? Yeah, maybe next time..

FML.

ROFL!! Thats not home wire, thats what the speakers came with!! I told you, get a testn light and figure out the factory **** or wire it directly to the fuse block like I did. I should have just left wired but I wasnt thinking

Not too sure yet. I was gonna probably get it towed to a friends house, and just tear it apart there and just fiddle with it till either it runs, or I just get fed up and quit.

And Kevin, I don't know how to wire it directly to the fuse block. What would be easiest for me to do?

Grab a meter and find a all time 12V and ignition 12V in the harness. There will be both in the part of the harness just behind where the stereo goes.

I would not part the SE out. Sell it off to someone who wants to tinker with it - if you get fed up with it that is.

You could trade your SE for my GS and have 2 almost exactly the same

URGENT! Yet again, I fail at keeping these cars running. I'm currently in Rome visiting a friend, and when I pulled in, I cut the car off. 20 min later, the car won't start. I'm assuming it's just flooded, but since I don't have an EGI fuse, or any ATF with me, nor any knowledge about the true inner workings of a carb, I'm lost. I'll be here for a while, but I can't stay the night...

If anyone has any advice, call me at 678-994-1545

Thanks in advance guys.

Well, I'm up and running again, I think it just flooded. Not really sure what I did to fix it, but I got it moving again, so we're all good.

They go for about $250 from these guys:

www.twistedrotors.com

Although we might be able to get an OGTA discount.

How 'bout a group buy? If 10 of us chip in $25 each will get it, we can house it with Crit or Billy.

I'm game, I'd love to check on how my 12A is chugging once in awhile.

Looks good Ray - Have you done any research about them? Just wondering how long this unit has been available and who manufactures it? Looked at there F.A.Q. page but it is currently under construction. They were copy written 2009!

Ray, I want to thank you for the advice on starting the 12A. If I just try to turn it over until it kinda starts itself, THEN give it gas, it runs great. I never would have thought to do that. It's still kinda rough, but it works. I think I just need to tune up the carb and fuel pressure regulator to get it perfect, but until then, that works great. I am much obliged to you, oh Old Guy with a 12A.

Happiness is a 12A and a carburetor, thanks Kevin, glad it's working for you. We don't want you sitting in any more parking lots. Check with Chris, Greg the Younger, Crit, Roland and Tim from NC about tuning those aftermarket carbs, they are experts. (I know Nikki's).

Roland I don't know anything about the quality of the tester, we need to look into that. I noticed it when it came up in 80's Old School's thread:

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-general-discussion-207/such-cool-tool-twisted-rotors-compression-tester-864111/

Anybody have any experience with this one or similar units?

Kevin,I thought I told you it woul fire up w/o pumping the gas? or if it needed maybe 1 or 2 pumps. If you were excessivly pumping thats what flooded it. It kills me to figure out whats going on because I didnt have any issues after installing the Holley
