Re-speed is not going anywhere. I may pull back on my advertising cost. This forum has the reputation on banning the user names after you pull sponsorship. I will loose all my posts and have to start with a new user name. Been here since 2001 but that does not matter.

Don't ask me.

Heading back to the US this weekend. It'll be nice to be home. The poor FB is probably lonely.

Europe: Where 1st gens (and all 7s for that matter) are more exotic than the 'exotics'. Way more Ferrari, Lambo, Maserati, etc. running around.

Have not seen a single 7 here (except for a black FD that I saw in Paris about 2 years ago). Few RX-8s around.

Billy, what if a year from now, when the economy is better, you decide to restore your present advertising support? Will you be able to have your old handle back then?

It makes absolutely no sense for someone to have to leave the forum (in the sense their handle is retired) just because they don't give money - after all, none of the rest of us pay anything and we get to keep ours.

So this "policy" serves only one purpose, to bribe or threaten the sponsors into continuing their sponsorship at the same or greater levels. That's just plain wrong, especially for a forum that claims to be open and free.

Just say the word Billy, we will make them rue the day they took your handle away.

On another note, $75 in Athens:

There are a few things you can do to mitigate the loss suffered by having your username taken. I'd start now by identifying a new username and setting it up. Go to your PMs and export them all to excel, or maybe forward the important ones to your new username. You can perhaps also talk to a helpful mod or admin and get your postcount and start date modified. I'm curious about Ray's question - what happens if you agree to pay the ransom down the road? Do you get your username back, PMs and all?

Yes, you get it back when you return. I was told the cost may be 3 to 4 times my current rate if I leave and then return.

That is exactly why I wanted to start thinking about the new user name now.

You're welcome to use Critoris, and can even rename it if the mods let you.

1st gen owners tend to keep using the same names over and over - Mike, Greg, Dave, Colin, etc.

But two Critoris's?

This all seems stupid as ****. Okay so you pull back your advertising, so you get banned? **** that ****...I see no reason why they'd do that.

Unfortunately, Collin, that's exactly how it's worked in the past with other vendors. I don't know of a single exception. I think it's largely because the site's no longer enthusiast-driven, and they don't care if we loose a free account...

'dems fightin' werds...

It's true.. This forum has become a parody of itself...filled with misinformation and parroting which leads to little help because it's only someone repeating what might have worked in one situation long ago on someone else' car. And of course you have the idiots and the ricers.

Lord, I need a stiff drink.

The first gen section is a lot friendlier and full of more intelligent posts than the 2nd gen section. Just saying, because there was a point where the 2nd gen section was where I looked the most, and now the site just seems much better now that I don't have to.

I agree Chris, we are the greatest.

Hey what's this thing with all the stars and paper clips and post it notes on the front page? Did we have to pay for that?

Michael, what's happening June 2? Is Zoomfest creeping up on us that fast?

Oh wait! That's the first Tuesday in June!

Billy, say the word, we can all multiple pm the mods, when we're done they'll be paying billy to stay.

yeah ray, unless it's been changed from the first tues, i thought bout making my first jeffery's meet. but with how money has been lately since the increase in med ins, it'll probably end up being a waist of a vac day. price of gas going back up aint helping either.

i think the little post-it-note icons has something to do with tags given to those threads for search purposes, paperclips means attachments, and the stars is how ppl rated that particular thread. if u put the mouse cursor over them, a box shows what they mean. i can even read the first post of a thread this way.

Ouch. I do but it needs to be on the silver car. How'd you do that? By the way Tim 1, I could probably do a passable job of banging that out for you if you want, you could keep the original paint and just do a little touch up.

1 Critoris X 2 = 2 Critoriiuses. Tim 2, you know that.

Michael, save it for Zoomfest, come make a weekend of it. Camping at the track is free and the Hotel Jefferson costs even less (course you need to deal with the goats).
