Old guys with 12As club meeting

Well my car hasn't seen much over 80 in the past year... I was up towards Helen a while back and some older guy in a mid 2000's Stratus coupe was commenting on the car at a light, and when we were going through some road that went to 2 lanes I got a chance to redline 3rd for kicks. Sadly to say, my car was barely faster than his
I looked it up and the smaller engine (2.4L 4 banger) which it had to have puts out 152 hp with 162 ft/lbs of torque, which in hand now makes me think he wasn't getting all the way on it... And on that trip to Montgomery a few weeks back I cruised around 80-85 south of Atlanta and into Alabama. That's really it though... I'm doing better

Anyways, school tomorrow and work stunk. Off to bed.
Yes Brett, but your car is older than you are, his car was just made. He's probably never been under the hood and if he was he was confused. You can fix your car, he can't fix his. Think about it.

Fuel injection is for girls. Dellortos, Nikki's and SU's are for guys. That accelerator throb, the Venturi shoooosh, the kick of the secondaries, the way it was meant to be. An acquired taste maybe in these days of fly-by-wire, but once you've been there, you're not going back.
I just needed to get reacquainted with my Nikki again after the last rebuild, she's squirting gas better than before so the trick is to let her spin over on cold mornings for a few seconds, don't touch the accelerator until she starts to fire. Started right up this morning, Zooomm Zoooommmmm...... And that cold dry air, perfect for a ride in the 7.
Also I need to report that my autorepair functions are still working nicely. That low end stumble I had for a few weeks after the Nikki rebuild is gone, now it goes from 650 rpm idle right up to 6000 witout a hitch. Must have needed to revarnish the progression circuit after that last Berryman's cleaning
Also my power antenna has started working again, this one took a few weeks for the autocorrect functions to figure out, probably because it's an aftermarket Radioshack unit.
7's, you gotta love 'em.

Crit, congrats on getting that EFI behaving again, I have to admit that SE experiment has some interesting features.

Gotta bitchin new wardrobe and eryting!
This looks like it has the makings of a great ride. Similar to last springs mountain ride, just don't stop when we get to Highlands. Might call for an overnighter, though.
Is that a hint for another rotary run, Ray? I maped this one out a while back for kicks. It's the one I mentioned a while back. I just like it because it's partially local and I've been on parts of it... The map's so huge so it's easy to see where exactly it is in relation to the monthly meets.

In the curves, definitely, 0-62? Doubtful
Your views on acceleration are terrible when you think you can compare my car to an escort... silly Collin.
That blows about your Dads finger... details?

Brett kinda has a chance sorta not really to get a Miata. But he won't, and he gave me a reason one day.... that he was at work and someone he worked with saw a guy in a Miata drive by and said: He must be gay!
That's so stupid...to avoid owning and DD'ing a beautifully engineered car just because of a stereotype.

Really, I'd love to have a nice new third gen miata, a white one with that retractable hard top. Talk about a piece of engineering and performance. Except it doesn't have a rotary. Maybe the 4th generation?
Wouldn't that be nice, having to chose between a brand new RX-7 and a fourth generation Miata with a wankel? Of course I have to wait for the White One and the Silver One to get old first, which could be another decade or two.

According to someone on here (Not saying who cuz he'll chime in at some point) the front subframes are identical between the MX-5 and the RX-8....so technically speaking you can bolt up the RENESIS all buttoned together in it's assembly. Not sure how you'd make it run, but aight.

We still hanging out tomorrow?

. Hey got your message, be hollerin' at you real soon to get an autograph.
