Our Drag down comforter

Next year we will have a trailer behind it a "pit" vehicle and BBQ and more probably each year. You see something else every year that is a good idea.

Actually I thought of that , But in the great state of NC we make cars legal not "safe" with our laws. As long as I have 1 mirror that is clear and usuable I am in the clear. I am a state vehicle inspector here in NC. Another fun example of the legal not safe argument is the fact that here we HAVE to have windshield wipers ON the vehicle at ALL times. BUT...You DO NOT have to have a windshield!!! Honestly that is the letter of the law.

Yep. Same is true in GA. How many panel vans have we all seen with no rear glass and no rearview mirror? It's totally legal.

Ok Crit, I'm coming to the meet, so if you still have some of that stuff Ray gave you to give me, could you bring it? Also: how much did you want for those rear Tokicko Blues? I don't think I could put any money together today, but I just want to know.

Also, Bret, make sure you don't leave before I get there! I'll probaby be a little late, around 8 or so.

So I've been searching all day and can't find how to adjust my TPS. If my car goes over like 1K, it idles around 1200 at NOT, and to make it go back to 750 you have to partially engauge the clutch so it slips and pulls the motor down. And it's liked doing the little 'surge' thing lately where it blips up and down at idle. If I bring a multimeter tonight can someone help me fix it? And I think it's my TPS because the screw that goes into there fell out and I just got another one and screwed it back in.

oh, yeah the first gen only has 1, and a distributor, and I never really looked at the packs on my TII, but I do remember there not being a distributor, so it makes sense. I'm gonna guess it's the leading I need.

Brett, Is this TPS on a FC? It is very easy to adjust. Do you have a multimeter/voltmeter? All you need to do is turn the key on, and check voltages on the narrow and full range circuits. Both in Fully closed and fully open throttle positions. 4 readings total and it is adjusted by the screw until voltages get within spec. I will grab my notes from when i just did this to 4 cars here at the shop recently. I'll post up the voltages and wire colors to check.

Narrow range checks:

Wire color: Attach pos probe from multimeter
Full closed(idle position): 0.75-1.25VDC(volts DC) on the greenwith Red stripe wire. ( Negative probe to engine ground)

Fully open: Approx. 5 VDC Tested on the same Green with Red stripe wire.

FULL RANGE CHECKS:

Idle position: 0.25-1.25 VDC tested on the Black with Green Stripe wire.

Fully Open position: 4.1-4.4 VDC tested on the same Black with Green stripe wire.

If the voltages are not IN the specifiesd range, turn the adjuster screw in or out ( probably in) until the idle voltage on the narrow range side is within spec. Then check the voltages again for idle and full open. Once you get one within spec the other range "should" be within as well. IF you cannot get one or either within spec with the adjuster,.. Than chances are that the TPS will need to be replaced.

Hope that is clear enough to help you out. If not PM me and I can help you out more over the phone.
Have fun tonight guys/gals
Dave

Hey Dave, we did have fun and everyone was asking about you and those OGTA-rotor stickers, sounds like you've got a winner there.

We had a good turn out:

4 FB's = 4 12A's
1 SA = 1.5 12A's
5 FC's = 2.5 12A's

Total 12A's for the October 2008 meeting = 8 12A equivalents, with lots of new people!

In fact, it looks like we are developing a pretty strong FC contingent.

How 'bout if we call these guys Young Guys with Second Gens, or YG@2G's?

PS, sorry I forgot to bring the camera, so no photos. There would have been some good ones. Tim's Lotus showed up without it's top, very very nice. And RobBob's white FC was there and a bunch of other new ones. Hope you guys can make it next time, I'll get some photos up!

Yes, a good meet. I should've brought a jacket! lol! When I left and the car warmed up, I cranked up the heat and got all toasty.

It was nice meeting all you new people- Chris, Holly's daughter who I can't remember her name but remember Bonnie (I think), and the 2 FC's that popped up. We won this time Ray!

And Dave- I did part of that test and I got the closed-throttle at 1, and the open read about 7. So I'm thinking this TPS's out of whack. I would play with it tomorrow but Collin has my multimeter now. Oh well, no big deal. It'll be fixed one day

Finally legal! *Knock on wood*

It was nice meeting you Brett, and I hope you know I was just kidding, your FC has come a long way and it's quite nice. The meet was pretty fun but it was getting cold.I want to try and make my new sunroof panel a Plexiglas one with the weather stripping and mounts.

Nice turnout. Regretted having smoked while I was there. Maybe cuz I haven't smoked in a few weeks but now I've got a metallic aftertaste in my mouth that I can't get rid of! Ick.

Debated which car I'll be driving to work this week. Probably the blue car just because I know what kind of fuel mileage I can expect from it...and it has a lil more gas in it still.
