Actually, how much would a large streetport run me with a good motor and do I need a more advanced fuel management to run it?

Atkins hard seal kit is aboout 630 bucks. For me that includes..( Solid corner seals, 2mm 2 piece Apex seals, Apex springs, Side seals and springs, corner seal springs, VITON oil control o'rings. Soft seals will run about 130 bucks or so.( Water seals and dowel o'rings, front and rear main seals,

Any hard parts that may have been damaged is extra $$ That is why you want to stop before is really goes boom,,like mine.

I would have to say that R-tek would be the guys to call about running a Large streetport. Banzai Racing makes a patch harness so that the T2 can run a Apex PFC engine management. That is a option for you as well. Since used PFC's can be picked up relativly cheap.

A quick way to check the general health of your engine is to remove 1 trailing plug at a time, disconnect the CAS plug and hold the throttle wide open and crank it. Listen for 3 solid wooshs out of the plug hole. That will tell the condition of the Apex seals. If anything other than 3 equal wooshs sounds then likely you have a bad seal inside.. Do this for both rotors, 1 at a time

did you mean to remove 1 LEADING plug at a time, or am i missing something? because removing a trailing won't really do anything right? the car will still fire up and it may be kinda dangerous....

No you remove the trailing plug...You missed the part where I said to disconnect the CAS ( spark trigger/crank angle sensor) The car will NOT start with that unplugged. It's all in the FSM

Alright, so spent some time fiddling with miss Seven today. Here's what I found... Two broken vac lines, my bov needed to be oiled and some other misc unrelated things. so fixed all that up and did the plug test, got 3 nasty whooshes from each spark plug so that checked. Started her back up and tried to hit boost and she wasn't havin it. The only thing Sam and I could come up with is my wastegate is stuck open which would explain why the bov will not open because the exhaust is being rerouted. I'm going to do a little more research b4 I buy anything but wut do ya'll think?

sounds to me like that turbo is in need of a rebuild, I have seen on the mitsu's that the wastegate flapper, wont seal and need to be re seated, so when you start to boost, the boost pretty much holds the flap open. i would just replace the turbo, and call it a day. thats just my 2 cents....

I talked to Anthony about his turbo. Probably needs a rebuild. No biggie. BTW Anthony, just running a streetport with the hybrid HTO4E. Runs great, just wanting a bridge again. I will probably just put the streetport in the corner of the garage for a rainy day. I just REALLY miss my old bridge. Especially after tuning and driving Longs. I can't truly explain to you guys how much of a monster his car is right now. Mine was close with the old 9.4 13B running 14.5psi of boost. But I think he would still have walked me.............

Did the neighbor see a Rx7 performing said manuvers? How do they "know" it was an Rx7? Sounds like was either a bike or a Vtech shifting mad fast yo!.I have built a few that spin higher than a rotary.. a 7 would have left the area to quick for anyone to see. Tell the neighbors it was their kid if they have one.

And considering these cars are the easiest cars in the world to break into they must have been complete idiots. It takes less than 20 seconds for me to enter any of the 7's without a key So it wasn't me!!

Ant, did you guys actuate the wastegate plunger? If you can see it move the gate is not siezed/stuck open. ( if it is going thru the full range of motion.) You should be able to see the gate if you remove the DP as well I believe. then actuate it again and watxh the movement. Hard parts don't usually just go bad without warining. Rubber hoses will leave you stranded all day long. Which is why all my hoses are now going to be SS braided.

And your exhaust has nothing to do with BOV operation. Unless you meant that it(turbo) was not spooling any positive air pressure thru the intake, therefor not having any boost to release.

BOV's open on the presence of Vaccum, not exhaust, I can open mine at a stop light just by raising rpm's a few hundred and chopping throttle. Never seeing positive pressure either

well josh isnt alone, after reading his post on myspace and here, i decided to check on my car, and behold, someone broke my new handle on my passenger side and as well scrached my door where it meets the post, i guest trying to pry it open! this happened tonite, because I put that handle on today. no josh just said it sounded like a rotary, but i dont think anyone saw it. i wouldnt think it would be anyone here, but it was more than likley a rx7 owner, because why would anyone brake into on unless they knew what they needed. did u get prints josh? the police are on the way to my house as we speak.... on a softer note, i am officially scared of my car if it was turboed. i realized it will do 120 in forth with it only turning 6100 rpms, and in fifth it only turns 4600. im loving this gtu tramy

oh but i have steve, i have seen it too many times. and yes i was talking about the turbo, not the actuall exaust. i have seen very weird things going on in boosted cars that cant be explained, without tearing apart and doing further exam. but i would start with checting all of your hoses, thats the cheaper route

Who's Steve?

And I don't think you can diagnose it any further without pulling parts and inspecting them, Kinda what I said in the last post about pulling the DP etc... I have seen the flapper door itself break off of the arm that closes it. Resulting in a proper actuator movement but absolutly no boost. My vote is a leaky line somewhere that is not been found yet.

as For the cars,.. I really doubht it was someone in the 7 comunnity. Every car I ever had broken into was not done by someone with the same car.Who did you guys **** off? Sounds like retaliation to me.
