Buttoned up the FB today. Fired her up and let it run for a while. The engine seems to be running okay, but I still will have to change the oil in it a couple more times. I also found out why I had the stumble issue when the secondary injectors kicked in. I had to mount my MAF straight in front of the turbo again. I don't have enough room for an air filter, so it's back to the pantyhose filter for now. If anybody has a good S5, or TII radiator they might part with, let me know. I guess I'm going to have to do a V-mount radiator to get more clearance in front of the turbo.
That dude reminds me of the statue David but with double hinged knees lol

I will be goin to pull a part today around 12. I will see if they have any radiators there, they have 2 second gens.

As much as I check Pull-A-Part, I can't believe that I missed those. Both 87s recieved within a week of each other. Dang. I know this is kinda late, but if you find one with the radiator cap on the radiator, that's what I'm looking for.

Everyone watchin the 24 hrs of le mans?? It's on speed now and it is night time over there. Some of the best racing always happens at night IMO.

Sam, you need to ditch the MAF and grab a Apexi PFC and the patch harness from Banzai racing. It includes a GM 3 BAR MAP sensor. MAP is way better IMO. If for no other reason you can run a turbo car N/A like I am now without dealing with locating a MAF. PFC's can be picked up dirt cheap nowadays in the 3rd gen sale section

They had one down there that I looked at, but I think they banged the engine on it when they pulled it out.

i guess im the greatest then. i was finnishing the turbo truck up at austin racing, and i snapped a valve cover bolt off. grrrrr i hate stainless steel bolts. but its comming along. that truck is riiiiiiged up bad. been repairing lines. boost was blowing the seals out of the throttle body. so i tore it down and im rebuilding that too. but i realized theres a dowl missing out of the block, and the guy said it only had one in the first place, but i found it on the floor. i hate fixing things other people tore apart. so im gonna have to pull the head back off tomorrow i guess. trying to get it ready for dyno day. there also running 36 lb injectors, with only a 190lph pump, and a STOCK regulator. thats why the engine was running lean, and there running 15lbs of boost as well. its a royal mess, i cant belive the amount of head trauma im having over this pos. oh well win some loose some i guess.

Anyone else find it sad that Peugeot has to throw 5+ cars at the race to beat Audi? Since they are all POS's and fail Such things as the A/C last year caused one car to retire because it was " too hot" for the french fry driving it.

It takes 4 guys to change the nose of the 908. Whereas only 1 to change the Audi nose. If you can't tell I am an Audi fan and dislike the French. But hey, still 35 minutes left for it to break

Andre, a mini torque wrench is or should be your friend.( and 1/4 inch tools, better feel IMO) Broken bolts happen because of the person behind the wrench. I have NEVER had a bolt break on it's own. I was always doing something to it with a tool. And all I mess with is steel into aluminum which is the worst. I do have to agree with you on fixing others hack work. VERY time consuming and agrevating.

The sun has to shine on a dog's *** every now and then.. This was a new car for Audi this year( The R15) They encountered bad understeer( push) at the track and never could cure it completely. This slowed their overall lap times. BUT, They have won with brand new cars many times before so it was just their time to let others taste the glory, for a year!

Corvette took home the GT overall and MAZDA took home 3rd in LMP2. They had 3 cars in and only the one finished.

Cory, Those look like my wheels. I can paint those up for ya real perty like.

That's really cool. Too bad they don't work with the S4 computer. I'm waiting on R-Tek to get on the ball with thier daughter board setep, and eliminate the MAF. I've seen too much stuff blown up with Apexi PFC, and the Haltech EX6. If R-Tek gets thier **** together, that will be the closest thing to a standalone, without going standalone.

Check the website Sam,
It IS available for both S4 and S5 It is a full standalone. Blow ups? Must have been Zac's work. Like bolts, engines don't blow on their own. It ALWAYS has something to do with the idiot behind the wheel( or computer in this case) If you think you can't blow an engine with the r-tek you are wrong. It will work but it is still only a place to start. It will never be optimized unless you can tune all parameters.

BTW, None of the engines in the FD went due to the PFC. Last one was a 2 dollar vaccum hose, one before that was due to debris entering the engine. Again no PFC fault. But hey if you want to wait for a band-aid to be made by R-tek have at it.

Car is running fine. I have a idle issue I am working on, Injector power is being interrupted causing a "odd" idle. Other than that it is going for it.

the car is in Saluda now. I am heading over to pick it up this morning and take a trip in the mountains on the way home. Haven't figured out a route yet, I may just play it as I go.

$900 for the PFC. then $350 for the patch harness? I would rather go standalone...........

Most of the blown engines from the PFCs I have seen have come from the owners not willing to have them dyno tuned. Not trying to set a debate, just giving my opinion. I didn't know they had a patch harness for the S4s. The reason I kinda like the R-tek better is the price. But the downfall is the fact they do still use the MAF.
