Man I had this whole thing typed up, but pressed the wrong button. Here goes again:

Boosted and turbo'd guys! I need your help!

Part #6 (and 7, but not in question)

**Lets say max boost is 10psi**

1. Does the wastegate valve begin to open when boost is sensed, a little at a time until max boost (fully opened)? Or does it begin to open late, say at 8psi, and fully opened at 10psi?

2. If I make a T off the #5 boost line to another component, will it still see the same boost? I would believe so since pressure is pressure.

I am wondering, I might pick up a TII turbo and butcher it or something...

Damn that thing puffs between gears Pretty nice vids. I didn't see my 1/4 vid yet.Blew the tires off the first run. Need to hold 1st a little longer to let the dyno catch some grip.

Hey stu, You will still see the same boost if you T that wastegate line. "Most" diaphram style wastegates start to open a bit before "advertised" boost.
If you have access to a Mighty Vac or other small pump with a gauge,..like the pump you keep in the closet..anyways, hook it up to the actuator and start pumping up pressure slowly. You should be able to see the rod start opening and read the gauge at the same time.

To UP the boost, you would put in some "pills" inline to the wastegate. ( Holley Main air bleed jets work well i believe..) This will slow the reaction of the actuator by delaying when it see's opening pressure. The FD for example.. without the pills inline, boost is over at 7 psi Add the restrictors and wow, hopefully a 10-8-10 pattern.)8 during transition to secondary

Nah, Can't make it this Sat. The ****'s won't allow it. Zei Fuhrer is against family/friend time, commonly reffered to as weekends. You should come up on Friday November 24th for the Salvation Army holiday laps.

What time are we(whomever is coming) meeting up with Kent(Gsl-SE addict) on Friday for dinner? And where?

OK so let me put it here:

The 24th is when Ken will be here. I am suggesting Charlotte, since that will save gas for me, and it is on the trip for him. I know of an Applebee's and a Chilie's etc right near where I live. I haven't seen him in forever, and this is the closest I can get to him...

The saturday after that I will be in VIR... Protege, so its like 32mpg Highway atleast. I will take that.

Then suday the 9th I will be at the I77 meet if all goes well

Charlotte works for me. I haven't heard for sure if Sam will be around or not. If he is, we could stop by Statesville on the way down to see him. If he can't go to eat, we could at least visit a bit. We'll probably stay in Charlotte, or maybe just south of there.

It would be nice to see Stu and Sam again (I know that Tim said that he can't make it) and it would be cool to meet some of you other guys. The last time I was down that way was the end of March, so it has been awhile.

I just need to know time and place (give me an exit number) and we'll be there.

Hope to see ya guys tomorrow night.

Kent

Guys,

I need to know where and when to meet. I will be leaving early afternoon and I need to know where I am going. I don't think that driving around Charlotte looking for a group of RX-7s would work very well.

Applebee's, Chilie's, or whatever is cool. Just need a time and location. I don't know Charlotte well, so I need to know in advance to plot it on the directions.

I am good with this if nothing else gets put out there. It is close to Stu's place and other locals in the Charlotte area. As for time..? When did you plan on gettinginto town? I eat late so my times will be hard How about 7-7:30ish? Others chime in with options. look forward to meeting you guys

Works for me. As far as when I will be in town, I can adjust that. That is one reason that I needed to know the time. I could probably be there as early as 4:30 or so, but perhaps I'll work a couple extra hours and shoot for getting there at 6-6:30 (in case of traffic or whatever).

See you guys tonight.
