Hey Mike, a couple guys from around here asked me if I would go to Huntsville with them next Sunday for Opening Day at the track. I hadn't heard anything about it until they asked me but I'm gonna try to make it up there and was wondering if you or any of the other guys from Huntsville are going to attend? If so, I'll let you know for sure if I'm going or not later in the week but since I'm off Monday it shouldn't be a problem for me to cruise on over there for a while on Sunday. Let me know.

Didn't see that Cobra, I'll look it up.

I just purchased some 18x9 and 18x10 FR500 wheels in black with a polished lip and just got some sticky Sumitomo street tires in 265/35s and 285/35s....they actually won't handle all the power and torque well but I'm a street guy instead of a strip guy so they're good enough for me. I doubt I'll run because I still need a new tune but there are a couple of new GTs and 03 Cobra that I'm supposed to be going with. The 03 is decent...running 7.60s..not that bad. I give ya a yell if I head that way.

Thanks,

Hey Mike....still have the 7, but I will be selling this one and getting another one later this year....hopefully. I want an R2.....

I may be going TDY to South Florida for a year. I am waiting to find out....it will be great pay!

I will come back to Huntsville after a year or so and find a home to purchase. Thats the goal anyway...

I have not been able to get involved much with the 7 community the last couple of years, but hopefully that will change when I get back from FL.

Greg

o.. just ring me.. Give me a heads up if you can. 7.60 is pretty good! What kind of power is he making? I remember running a gt on nitrous and built motor awhile back that went 7.60ish.. Street sleeper too!

Welcome to the forum! Sorry I can not help you here as most on here find out that there are not many rotary shops around and just take it upon themselves to get work done. I think if Dustin (turbo II) is still around he has a shop on Governors in Huntsville and does some rotary work. Dig back on here and see if you can find him and PM him. I think he went by dustinali or similar/

Not outrageous power or anything, like 470rwhp. He's a sleeper, if you can really call an 03 or 04 Cobra a sleeper. White vert with tan top. He's running the stock Eaton supercharger with a different pulley and bunch other bolt-ons but the bottom end comes already heavily built for dragging from Ford.

Well the 03 and 04s came with an Eaton Supercharger and made 390 flywheel hp. When my 01 was stock it came without a supercharger and made 320 flywheel.

I will say this, the new 427Rs and 428Rs come with a supercharger from Rousch and make 425 flywheel hp and are real easy to get well into the upper 500s (rearwheel) with a few basic mods. I don't think you would have too tough of a time with some of them but I bet they would be fun to play with.

Sk8world… thanks for the welcome in! I will try looking for Dustin. Do you know the person in Madison that is selling the 87 TII (Brandon I think)? It looks like from the pictures posted he could do most anything to one.

Thanks again and let keep me in the loop too.
I would like to join a get together if I can get my car back on the road.

Hey Mike,
I have not heard anything back yet on the Florida gig...but it would only be a temporary move for about 1 year and then back to Huntsville. It is a special project with my current job.

It may be a few months before I even go.....don't know anything definite yet. We'll see.

I hope to maybe pick up a nice FD down there.....who knows...

I am not really sure what i need done to it at this point. I parked it 6 years ago because it was losing power and could not find someone to work on it. I have not had time or funds to really do anything with until now either. My son was only a year old at the time this all started and I had to travel with my work also. I really think my original problem was just a vacuum leak somewhere, but I am not 100% sure of that. I just know I need someone to help me check everything out on it, drain/change the fuilds, and get it started again... then worry about why it is not operating correctly. I have seen vacuum tube kits out there for about $250 to 350 so I am guessing I would just go ahead and replace it all before attempting to fire it back up too.

I bought the car in 89 with less than 9,000 miles on it and it currently has 98,000 miles on it. It has been always been garaged and it very good condition on exterior and excellent on interior. It has always been a second car. I just need to get it running now and then I would like to do some upgrades and detail work to next winter.

Do you think the guy in Madison could help me out?

Thanks,

By the way...
I did locate Dustin (turbo II) on here, but he has not posted anything since May of 2007. I sent him a PM in hope he will be checking it or has a notification set up. Do you have another way of contacting him or know the name of his shop in HSV?
Thanks,

Wall, you could try Van Cleef Racing in Huntsville. They have worked on rotary's before. He put a motor in Craig Farrs FD (forum member).

Angry Bad Luck is my best friend...

Well, I must have a dark cloud hovering over me... the day they were released from the hospital, I come down with the flu I couldn't be around the baby so I had to stay at my mom's place Tuesday night thru Friday till I was fever free for at least 24 hours. I haven't had much time with my little girl yet because I'm still trying to regain my energy so I've been sleeping about as much as she has. I have to go back to work tomorrow...

I saw that white/tan vert Cobra earlier today... He was at Audio Addiction and that performance/custon shop across from Long Lewis.. I was wondering about it because it sounded awesome and here you were talking about it a few days back. Anyways, hus are you still around the forums? I see you sold the FD, did you ever run that supercharged 'Stang from the Elgin area?

Also, are there any other plans for a meet in the H'ville area? I won't be able to drive my 7 out, she's down with multiple problems, but I'd love to meet up sometime.

Yup, Sold the FD back in Dec. And yes, I'm still around on the forums...I feel like I made a lot of good friends here even though most don't like the fact I'm no longer a FD owner, but it's all good. Never gotta chance to run the Stang in Elgin. I don't know about any meets in H'ville but I'm down for Big Ed's one night soon. However, I think a lot of the guys on here have had newborns and might not be able to break free anytime soon.

I don't get out much but when I do it's usually after my wife and kids are in bed cause I don't want to take to much time away from them and I'm a "go to bed late" kinda guy. Usually there are several cars at Ruby Tuesdays in Muscle Shoals on Friday and Saturday nights around 9-9:30pm. Cobras, GTs, Z28s, GTOs and sometimes I might be out in my Hemi Charger. And there use to be a lot of Import guys that hung out in Florence around Autozone and then another group at Books A Million. I've been hearing of a lot of street racing on CO. RD. 62 in Lauderdale but I haven't been out there any. But that's about it for around here. I'm down to Meet and Eat with some RX7 guys in H'ville though as long as nobody cares about a Cobra being there...or a Plum Crazy Charger
