Well, I finished making all my braided fuel hoses, cleaned and assembled the fuel rails, ordered the last few parts I need, and have everything else ready for final assembly. Now all I need is some nice weather.

Then after puttng iy back together wth my center secton I find the 2 are differant and t wont work. What really sucks is had to damage mine in order to get apart. So I guess will be buying a new one asap. Fun fun!!

noy your fault.. They are differant front covers, the bearing behind the cover is bigger on the one from you so the cover has a larger pocket for that. I trie to swap bearings and it would not seat down far enough to put the cover back on. I might be able to put it back to orignal form..

I have another front cover. Let me know when you will be available and I will bring it to you.

I did not get a cool camcorder so you will have to take more videos.

Guess it is almost time for Bid Ed's again.

Hey Guys.. Just wanted to let you know that DGRR 1st round of registration is OVER....

BUT, I'll extend the $60 registration fee for you guys for another week..

I know $60 sounds a lot, but it includes 3 meals at the lodge, Tshirt, etc.

Happy New Year everyone!

Mike....I got lowballed at the dealership like you were hoping...haha....
I didn't want to trade it anyway....

Looks like I will be keeping the FD a while longer...
Now I just need a few more parts to finish fixing her up....

I would love to go to DGRR 08 Phil, but I am not sure if I will be able to make that time frame. Gotta check the schedule. I am tired of missing events like I did last year, and would love to meet some of you all.

Well, I've got to go back to work tomorrow....ugghh! O...wait...I mean today...haha.....

.

After reading that I have no interest in changing alt. I believe mineto be the original 100k miles and still going strong. I just needed a new cover as I damaged mine awhile back.

But I did manage to get it back together so all good now.

The one I gave you was one I had rebuilt and went dead after 1 year (exact time of warranty) but I do have another cover you can have. Just let me know when you want it.

hahah heading to nashville as I write...

Don, the one you gave me looked way older than 1 year? When I took it apart the (not sure the proper name) leads that make contact on the shaft were wore to nothing. Thats what was wrong with it. Mine were 1/2 to 3/4 inch longer and I know it is from atleast 1997. So not sure how it could have got that wore down in such a short time. Either way I like the idea of a Alt. designed for 8000 rpm.

Yeah the alternator came from a junk yard so it's pretty old. The alternator shop I took it to claimed to have rebuilt it but it basically stopped working properly after about a year of use... maybe they didn't rebuild it at all and just did the old switch-a-roo on me.

I've taken apart several FD alternators and I don't know how these guys rebuild them... The 'lead' or what ever you call it seems to be part of something and can't be replaced..

I also like the idea of GM alternators.. but unless you are having issues or have big system, I don't think its necessary.

Anyone heard of someone getting "new" stock FB 4spoke wheels with green insides over the past weekend? We had 4 stolen from our house over the weekend. They had bad sumitomos on then (some had the tread blown off, others were just bald).

They just the normal plus sign wheels, in decent condition, with the insides painted a darker green. Any one with info on the wheels can has a double cheeseburger.

On a lighter note, how are things in the 7 world?

Kingbob! How is it going? Sorry to hear about! I would recommend posting on Huntsville Racing or Alabama Racing scene.. I think those forums are more active and local.

Don and Mike, I'm going with AN fuel set up and wondering where did you guys buy your SS fuel line from and what AN fittings are you using?? Pics would be great!
