No, it's the fitting your pressure gauge screws into. I have a Defi fuel pressure gauge on the A-pillar so the sending unit srews into mine. I thought I wrapped a sufficient amount of tape but I guess not. I was affraid of putting too much because before when I did, the threads seemed to bind-up and it wouldn't screw in very far.
Hey guys, I just bought my first ever rotary car. It is a 93, touring i believe. I have gotten a lot of advice from mechanics and other people and I have some ideas of what I want to do to the car to improve performance and dependability but I want to bounce the ideas off some people who actually own them. Also if I could get one of you guys to give my car a once over and tell me what you think that would be great. Ill take all the advice i can get. Anyhow, I live in SE Huntsville and would love to meet with some of you guys sometime to see what you have done to your cars and what not. I am very excited about owning this car that I so far love, Im looking forward to hearing from some of you.
yes I did buy local from a doctor. It is silver and a 5 speed. I am thinking of getting a whole new exhaust system because im told the old one is not sufficient and getting rid of the cats and adding a boost gauge(any thought on where to put that on my console?). Any recommendations for exhaust kits?
If the motor is strong, not too old then I would pick up a used catback and intake to start with of the "parts for sell section". then a down pipe. After you get a better source of ecu (pfc) then add a midpipe. Dont want too lean out! With just the basic bolt ons, intake, full 3 inch exhaust, pfc, boost control you will have a very fast car.
nope not the same one, mine has 60k miles on it and only 6 on the new engine. red leather interior and silver paint 5 speed. i don't know anything about boost control or pfc, i guess that has to do with getting a new ecu? and would boost control mean i am controlling the amount of psi and when it boosts from my turbo chargers? i am new too all this stuff.
Welcome to ya bacon!
First advice from me is to NOT to get in a hurry to do anything to the car.....yet.
Best thing you can do is not make changes until you have a FULL understanding of how they will affect the car, and why you are doing them. Take some time to meet other owners first. Read up on the car and enjoy it as is for a while.
IF you really want to start doing some changes immediately, then Follow skworld's advice above....
Does it run good right now? Any issues? Before doing anything, make sure it runs perfect as is. IF it has any issues at all, then make repairs before doing any mods.
If there are no issues, then just feed it good gas and oil, check all the fluids and belts etc....and enjoy it.
Post some pics of it so we know what ya got!

Hey, I drove that car. His wife came and talked to us at Books a million one day. It has damage to both fenders, and the windshield. The fuel door catch is broken. The BOSE system doesn't work, amp dead. They wanted too much for it. I offered them 10K. Been sitting in a barn ofr 3 years, Dr. Campbell bought 2 Corvettes and abandoned it. The red interior is sharp though.

well there is a certain silver fd base model, 5spd, black interior for sale. 25k on new reman. asking 10.9 passenger side just was painted so that side is perfect.. been pondering buying it for a fix up-resale or maybe a later project.

Well, first thing is to fix/repair anything broken or damaged before you begin to mod your car. You need to start with a fresh clean canvas before you can begin to paint a masterpiece.

We'll be most likely taking 72 across to C'nooga... guestimate time and/or place to meet up?
I think Leo is going with us too, but I haven't talked to him.
