how aobu tusing a supercharger with a magnetic clutch on the pulley and a turbo as well? make the super turn up to about 6 psi and then let the turbo spool up to a good point and then let the magnetic clutch disengage.

Maybe a little delayed-but just to clarify the details about the C02 cooling system I was describing-the C02 isn't injected into the intake but rather flows through an aerodynamic shaped "wing" mounted within the IC piping, where it performs the duty of cooling the compressed air, the C02 is then routed to the front of the IC where its vented across the core. Several of the wings may be located within the piping to further improve cooling efficiency-however the vented piping must be the final departure zone for the C02.
Regarding the Liquid nitrogen system-which I admit is simply an idea at this point- while the properties and expense are a challenge- a closed loop system that would require only an initial investment is what we are considering. We have access to several cryogenic suppliers and engineers-afterall we are located in the midst of 90% of the Winston Cup teams.
The freon based systems are unacceptable (as Ren mentioned) due to the power losses that a suitable compressor imposes.

George, no it's not impossible. I want to say the new Nissan Xterra has a clutch for its optional S/C. Might not be the Xterra, but some vehicle currently on the market has it available. When the clutch is disengaged, air flows thorough a tube that bypasses the compressor.
Anything is possible with enough time and money.
