East Tennessee Rotary Club
Yeah, everyone kinda went off to do seperate things, but congrats on snagging a clean FC. Any plans for it yet besides to drive it till the wheels fall off?
I plan on heading up to Pull-a-part on sunday to snag some stuff for my car in preparation for its disassembly, you can prolly get a full 5lug swap from there pretty cheap, aside from needing rotor's, pads, fluid, and wheels.
Also, if you happen to need some grey interior pieces (or some rear black pieces) I have some Im not going to use, as well as some stereo components and a FC specific stereo harness w/ trim adapter

Dont need any parts yet. I have to get it registered and stuff first then Im going to work on this damn 5/6th port thing. The guy that had it before me did something to the cats and now the ports dont open becuase of back pressure from what ive read. its no fun to lose power while accelerating.

Well according to the website PAP got another 88 in after I pillaged there in may. So chances are theres still a couple 5 lug swaps there and at least one GXL LSD rear diff.
Also, make sure you have your port actuators, and if you are hard up you can have an exhaust shop cut the cats off and weld in a piece of straight piping, then have a tube put in it to actuate the ports like the Racing Beat presilencer does.

Read through a couple more pages and posted a topic in the 2nd gen section. Turns out it might be a bad ground or dirty injectors. 3800 hesitation is what you probabky know it by but I'm a newb at this point lol. Anyway tomorrow is my day off so I'm going to clean all the grounds using a guide on aaroncake.com and possibly clean the injectors if I have time. I've seen lots of pictures of the rx7 engine bay but this is the first time I've gotten to play in one so its all new to me. I don't have the cash for new wheels yet so the 5 lug swap is out but I plain on picking up a fender and trying my hand at painting. If that goes well ill probably paint it solid black.

Well they have one complete 5 lug swap and 2 LSD units on the property right now, as well as 1 manual steering rack, maybe 2. Its always a good idea to have the parts on hand for when you DO decide to swap (instead of having to buy everything here on the forum you can save some $$$ by getting the parts from the yard.)
Just a reminder that registration for Zoom-Fest will close Sunday morning.
This is to ensure we have everyone accounted for and to give time to print the shirts.

mmmmm got back from PAP already, snagged a pair of GXL seats from a 87, no major rips/tears, though the left leg support on the drivers seat is a bit meh, overall decent seats.
just a pair? I think i have a couple spare around here somewhere (possibly in my glovebox) though they will need 'rebuilt/cleaned' before they get used.
Whats the problem you seem to be having that youve determined its the injectors?

il be accelerating and around 3500 it just losses power. I have another post where i originaly thought it was the 5/6 ports but from the info I was getting there it seems that if those were acting up the car would just not have the same power at the top end rather than lose power. If your trying to accelerate hard it throw you forward. I tested the resistance of both of my secondary ones since those are supposed to be the ones that kick in at 3800 rpm and to forward on read like there was no resistance between the two connectors. The rear one read in the range of 2.5 or 3 ohms. The manual stated that the correct resistance should be between 1.5 to 3 ohms. So Thats where Im at as of now. Ill see if I can find a guide to clean the injectors. I hear there is some guy on here that can do it for some where close to 15 a piece but if its not to hard and doesnt require and special equipment Ill do it myself. How much do you want for a pair that will fit the s4? is the s4 and s5 injectors different? I can get them from PAP for like 6 a piece so I might do that if you cant find any.

it means they dont require the resistor pack that the 86 and 87 model years used. Cant use em on early models as they wont read right OR fit into the connector properly...though I think pull-a-part has a 87 out there with its engine intact, might be able to pull the manifold off to snag the primary fuel rail and its injectors.
