i have a turbo rotary to be my wallet sucker, something i can get into everyday and drive without thinking about it would be nice.
If that's what you want then maybe you should consider getting a Subar.... oh... right...

RX-7's in general just aren't the best cars for what you describe. Mainly because they're all old. Old **** is going to break if you keep driving it. Especially if you drive it in the snow, right Cody??

Neither is going to be any good. TII has wider wheels, which is actually a hindrance in the snow but there's not much difference. Most N/A's have an open diff though, which will make them all but undrivable. You probably won't get a base model N/A out of your driveway.

wait....Id think the LSD would cause more problems than anything else, but any RWD car is going to be evil in snow, its just physics. But NO car is great either unless youve got specific tires and a PLOW attached to the nose.

But a boosted car will be double teh headache as everytime you hit a wet patch the wheels spin, turbo spools, wheels spin faster, over rev, awwwww ****....rebuild time!

Pfft, it's not hard to keep the turbo from spooling. Just a wee bit of foot control. As for the LSD, it's better to be spinning both wheels than just one. But yeah, no RWD is going to be good in the snow. And the RX-7 is too low for that anyway. Let's face it, they're horrible winter cars. Which is part of why I traded for the Subaru. Two summer fun project cars and a project bike just wasn't cutting it.

So can we then expect to hear the mountain sustained a nasty injury when a green subaru plunged over the side, taking multiple trees with it and setting a few acres of forestry on fire?

Eh, I dunno Derrick... it would be hard to start a decent fire with the snow cover but I'll give it my best shot.

Guys, I have driven my n/a FC and my FD in the snow, when I lived in Maryland. I thought it wasn't going to be any problem, both had manual tranny, but on frozen road and blowing snow, I did a 180 in both of them. Luckily I didn't hurt either RX-7, just ended up going the other way in an instant.

I'm just saying these cars are so light and weren't made to run in snow. They are so light and I was only going under 15mph. I figured, what could happen if I was taking it slow? lol I wouldn't attempt it again, unless I had ATV tires

I managed to 180 an N/A FC going uphill in the rain. That's how bad those peg-leg diffs are. I always wanted to take the RX's out in the snow but since I live in the valley, the opportunity seldom arises. Hopefully I'll get to take the Subie out this winter. If nothing else, I can go to where the snow is up in the mountains.

There's still three unavoidable disasters that you face in the snow:

1) Ice - Unless you're running some studded Blizzaks or chains, it doesn't matter how many wheels you have turning. ****'s gonna slide.
2) Other people's crappy driving - you may have no trouble driving in the snow but "Joe the Plumber" in his 2WD Expedition will T-bone your madd skillz right off the road
3) Salt - Even if you manage not to wreck the car, a winter of driving in that crap will. Just ask Brian about the loaner FC from Ohio and the "weight reduction" it got on the way down here

yeah i had a guy nearly rear end me in the snow in the Subaru once
i was stopped at a stop sign, looked behind me and see a 4 ton dualie pick up sliding sideways at about 40 miles an hour straight for me... so i gunned it through the intersection... guy slammed into the curb and rolled the truck. would smashed into my car if i hadnt took off... people seem to forget that snow = SLIPPERY.

oh and WOOT! http://img370.imageshack.us/my.php?i...scn0062rr0.jpg

Well that was fun... I had to call work and explain to them that I was going to be late because I was breaking into my own car. Damn electric locks. Gensai... why don't the keys match the doors? I guess I'm going to have to get some made.

Welp... gotta do something about that. It was mean to me this morning. After I got into it, I tried to get it to do it again and it wouldn't. I think it's just a bit evil.

just a bit evil?

So yeah...gonna repaint the 'daily' BBS wheels black using the same type of paint I did my old T2 wheels in...dont harp on me, these wheels are kinda scruffy around the edges already and the race wheels are in much better shape oddly enough.
