just filled up the 7 and the conquest, 27 gallons of fuel combined for a grand total of $111.25, spent less filling the conquest than I did the 7...but the 7 was empty. gas was $3.999 for unleaded and $4.199 for premium at only one gas station near my house....I now have 3 weeks worth of gas provided I go ONLY to work and back.

Here's those seats...

$75 for the pair. They came from an '84 GS.
Also, Cody and I still have this thing...

3 piece (aluminum?) targa roof for a first gen. Can't say what I'd want for it since Cody half owns it as well... how much, Cody?
And then there's this stuff...

FREE! Not even sure what all is in there and I don't feel like digging it all back out again. It's all S2 first gen stuff. Come and get it, take the whole box if you want. Not pictured are maroon interior step panels - the long plastic pieces at the bottom of the door. And a silver fuel door. Who knows what else. Someone get this stuff outta my garage.

you guys may want to try this: http://csaa.kivera.com/csaa/gaspricefinder.jsp
According to that there is a gas station way out in the sticks with $3 gas.. I'm not driving out there to find out but nice if so. Anyway, fuel ranges from $4.1 to $4.5 for regular here.
Also if you guys have the time perhaps you can help add to this: http://tinyurl.com/699zg7 It's something I tried to start here over a year ago and got hardly any support. The other forum has given me a little more but not much. I guess no one cares.

yeah, but when youve got cars on nigh empty its a waste of time to go into the sticks to try and find cheap gas...spend more DRIVING to the station than you would have saved really.
And judging from that thread the list is fairly well complete as far as parts swapping on s4-s5 stuff.

It is now... it started to die while I was riding and I thought, "Oh great, what now..." Luckily bikes have a reserve, so I flipped it on that and cruised out to the gas station for the first time since I've owned it. 12 bucks = half a tank at today's low low prices.

The RE-5 gets about 35mpg on the highway. Pretty bad for a bike. That's a rotary for ya though. It's still cool as hell. There's a guy around here that's got a couple.
WHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I say **** THE HIGH DOLLAR GAS! I sit at home, drink and smoke... and forget the world and leaving the house.
WOOT!
OH YEAH
see this red FD on 129 ALL weekend and up by the 129/411 JCTN!

E85 is about as good for a rotary as peanut butter from what I've heard. Then again, I've never tried running peanut butter in my cars so the jury is still out on that one. In any car, it produces less power and poorer fuel economy than "pure" gasoline. So I wouldn't put it in my tank. Acetone, on the other hand...
There's a very loud RX-8 running around here now, and I may have had something to do with it...
its a better performance fuel you know that right? less gas mileage but its also rated at 100 - 105 octane.
i got 25 mpg when my FD was stock, made a 400 mile trip on one tank. Alot of the single turbo guys see 20 mpg i think Rich said he was getting 23 highway on his A spec 500R for a while

I looked up some general info on E85 and a lot of sites said it increases power because it cools the intake charge and releases more exhaust than gasoline, creating more exhaust pressure. It's chemically efficient but still not very fuel efficient. You're right about the octane rating. As far as setting up a rotary to run that, I haven't searched. I wouldn't bother with it just because I fill my cars up enough as it is, and it's not going to save me money, especially after the expense of the conversion. Let me know if you find any good info about it though.
I was going to experiment with the cheaper and easier alternative of running a minimal mix of acetone in the first gen. But that was before my fuel pump crapped out on me. So I've got to replace that and get that carb working right before I can play with such things.
25 is pretty damn good for any rotary. The RX-8's have a hard time doing that.

yeah well the N/A FC's can see like 28 or something, atleast thats what ive had some owners report to me...
yeah E85 is good theres a thread or two on it in the alternative fuels section about it. It seems like you need an extra 30% more fuel to run E85 so you need bigger injectors, some guy was told running a single turbo would need bigger injectors over the 850cc primarys and 1600cc secondarys. so im imagineing like 1000cc primarys with 1600cc secondarys, which is... alot... BUT when E85 burns, it burns completely so there is no residue in the chambers, which is why its so much better emissions wise. Eitherway it comes down to it being a better performance fuel, cant argue with running near race gas octane in your car, but fuel economy DOES drop quite a bit, but at the same time E85 is usually just over 2.20 a gallon so... im sure depending on your car, it could work out to be more expensive but then i guess youd have to convert and really test it out.

Some of the first gen guys are getting into the 30's on their cars. Takes a bit of tweaking. I've had a stock N/A FC and a stock FB and neither of them would touch that. But if I ever get the first gen running right again I'll give it a shot.
Interesting. E85 is 2.99 a gallon here, so not much better than gas normally. 1000cc primaries and 1600cc secondaries... geez that's a lot of fuel! Might as well just stick a garden hose down in there.
