Weber LIM + Weber 48MM IDA - boost prepped with Neoprem float
Carb hat from Rotaryshack
Malpassi fuel regulator from Rotaryshack
Stock s5 turbo/ ported wastegate with stock s5 turbo manifold
MBC (turbo XS maybe?)
eBay intercooler core/my own piping + couplers, simular to trust/greddy in size
BOV from turbo XS
Oil tap to the front cover a-la camden style
Corksport downpipe and midpipe
boost gauge - autometer
wideband 02 - zeitronix
MISC jets (or take care of me ahead of time)
Centerforce clutch
Jacobs Ignition
Walbro 255LPH
CAI with filter moved from the engine bay
And other random stuff, fittings, and the like.
Look better? Can you make that work for me? I'de want 8-12PSI of boost, good torque, and drivatbility. Can you do it?

What do you suggest has happened.
i just installed the apex cold air intake on my fd, just wanted to know if the noise i hear should cause any concern-the noise sounds like an low aftermarket exhaust noise at low rpms then goes away after the engine revs higher.

thats expected along with some performance gains

blow thru
rob i am going to do a costum blow thru turbo on my 12a and i was wondering if you could possibly cut me a really good deal, or help me find a place for one, on good turbo, used would be fine, i am only going to be running around 9 psi so no intercooler, a carb hat for my dellorto, and some pipping from the turbo to the carb hat, and i may need a turbo dizzy but i have heard about locking????? it at so many degrees and it would be fine? but could you give me a price on each of these pieces seperatly.
this is what i have so far,on the car
rebuilt engine no porting, sadly, with new rotors and housings
one piece side draft intake with a dellorto
efi fuel pump, pressure regulator
i also have a custom made exhaust fro a t4 turbo, WG blow off vavle, and all neccessary guages.
could you please give me some prices and recommendations.
P.s. i may also need a second gen oil cooler and some intruction as were to mount it.
Thanks Alot I Would Really Appreciate It!!

hey,
I have a stock computer (87 gxl btw)
a CAI (with a box tomorrow) and currently fabricating some exhaust parts
if i put a TII fuel pump in,
what needs to be readjusted,
will my air/fuel be too rich with the tII pump before i port my manifolds?
im positive it will but since im postin anyways, i saw an fd alternator on an s5,
theres nothing to obstruct that from fitting an S4 is there?
thanks!!

Jager,
Is the float filled with Neoprem or is it made from it? what is Neoprem?

and yes the fd alt will fit, if you swap out the pulley
Still having problems with tuning the weber 45dcoe (stock port 12a)
Current jets:
f-16 E Tubes
155 air correctors
170 mains
F9-60 idles
36mm venturi's
Fuel pressure on my crappy Summit gauge reads about 2.5 psi
The car seems to run pig rich at idle, and the header glows cherry red... Hmmm any tips or ideas?
Thanks a ton!

timing could be off(retarded timing will cause more heat) what is your timing set at?
try 55 f9,or60 f8 or 55f8 idle jets,(all leaner) should eliminate your rich idle problem
RB header. Thanks for the tip on the different idle jets, i'll give it a try and find out the results!
As far as the timing goes, when I put the timing light on L1, I have it so that the indicator pin is pointing right at the most CW mark. Maybe this is wrong? Is L1 supposed to point at the most CCW mark on the front pulley? Thanks!

hi there could u send me any pics or tell me were to conect my tubing coming from my pillar gauges ( the ones i need info on is oil pressure and feul pressure) thank u and could u reply straight to me plz
Hello all. Newbie here with a couple questions. My engine is an 83' 12a (fb?)
A. I have a double barrel holley on a stock intake that just won't idle correctly. So I already bought a new 45 dcoe and new intake manifold to fit the engine. Hopefully this will correct the backfies, improper idleing and such. How hard is it to install by myself? What should I look for? Any tech articles on this site?
B. I'm trying to figure out how to use the oil metering pump through this system. So far, I think that the two "elbows" on the back of the intake manifold could be used for the injection of the oil into the chamber. Only thing I'm not certain of is why the vacuum "elbows" might be bigger than one another? Would this affect the vacuum pressure and inject different portions of oil into the intake? I'll try to take some pictures soon...
C. Right now my dual exhaust is directly connected to engine housing. I was wondering if there was any disadvantage to not having the thermal reactor inbetween, if I was losing power, and if it was normal for the pipes connecting to the exhaust to glow red hot after a drive around the block a couple times.
Thank you in advance for your help. Try to post some pics soon...

Robert, I'm getting ready to start my boosted motor. Any suggestions on what timing I should be running? The motor is an old style 4port using 12a plates and Se rotors and rotating assy. with a mild streetport. The springs in the dizzy are gone so it will hit full advance as soon as it starts.
Thanks, Ed

I tried this setup:
55f8 idles
155 air correctors
170 main
f-16 and f-11 E-tubes.
36mm venturi's.
And when I tried to start the car and it would stumble/backfire and stall. I tried this a few times with the same results.
With the f9-60 idles it seemed to fire up instantly though, so it really seems like leaning out the idles isn't doing the trick. Is it possible that I need to go with a bigger idle and the cherry red header is from a mixture that is too lean at idle? Perhaps I should give 65f9's a shot?
It doesn't make any sense to me at all, because the car smells REALLY rich with the 60f9's, and has a small amount of blue smoke (oil... which makes sense because I premix...). So I don't know what the heck is up....

cliff notes, it wont accelerate smoothly, and i have no idea why.

so let me get this straight, with the car just idling the header will glow? i would definatly have to say if your answer is yes, then you have an intake leak for sure..
your jetting is good, the car should run pretty good...

i think the problem with your sk, is where you got it.... its scary how bad ive seen carbs get when they fall into the wrong hands
i sent you a pm

And if there was a vacuum leak why would the car seem so rich with the 60f9's? I would have guessed it would lean right out. I would just get a wideband O2 sensor except for the fact that this setup is only for the time being before I go fuel injected...
