Ok just my 2 cents here i'm with yellowr1 here the other guy is a noobie (or at least is coming off that way) I personally have ran and beat the new c6z06 serveral times, and have pulled on it, Our cars are very top end happy dont know how many of you have actually taken them up there but trust me they like it, we dont have Tq so we make up for it in HP personally tons of cars can pull me on a dig but guess what as soon as i hit 2nd i start pullin right back

before i go anymore i guess i should mention what i have:
bridge ported motor with a GT45R 1600cc and 1000cc prime..methonol injection running 28psi. 4.30 rear end and just about every lightened engine mod there is, on top of all the other goodies. i run 285/40r18 in the rear on toyo proxis T1-r softest street compound tire... rating of 200(meaning very soft) i hook up very well. as for HP numbers in in the 650-700hp range my car as been on a diet and i would say around 2300lbs

point being power the weight LARGE part of anyrace, i'll admit z6zo6 are hard to get off the line but from a roll i dont have an issue with them, from 60-160+ they are in my house.

after reading this thread I decided before I posted I was just going to look it up for myself on youtube and streetfire and I'm sure if you guys do the same you'll find your share of fds shaming the vettes...and a few vettes running on an fd...theres driver error in every race, street or track, these are all things that should be factored in. Though from what I saw, if an fd was started at a 60-65mph roll it was getting the c6 at the end of 4th...just my opinion of what I saw...ill try and post the link later...Am I going to be ridiculed as a noob now?

Someone said earilier that when they first became a rotary noob they listened more then they posted. I have to say that I have been following that path as well I probably have much surpassed the noob state, but I still know there is much more that i need to learn, and it baffles me that people with so much more knowledge can seem so much more trivial than I. If i didnt look at the post counts, years on the forum, age, etc I might have jumped in a little quicker. However I digress.

As for this whole disscusion, i hope it is on its way out. does it really matter what your car can do against ONE other performance car, in ONE certain condition? I personally don't see the point. And as for people assuming others are calling BS or that they feel the need to disrespect themselves in an attempt to get some person hundreds of miles away over the internet to agree with them and believe what they believe is astounding at the least. You can't even get that in a one-on-one personal conversation with someone with an opposing view. I don't care if you videotape the race, show dyno and time slips for both cars and all statistics, Someone is still going to call BS. It might be outside temp. traction, reaction faults shift faults or non optimal track conditions. Someone WILL say you won by a fault, a technicallity, whatever. It WILL happen, you just got to get over it Nancy, and quit your bitching.

Or as a good friend of mine says: "Aww fu$k it.."

(oh and btw, 3rdgensleeper, Nice car, no dought it will pull a c6z!)

i guess so. but it's all good, that bs is just as useful as half the other posts in this topic. and at least my bs posts are for the sake of bs and don't escalate into flame wars. i'm just here to have my fun, not to find someone to argue with.

btw: from my detective-like deduction skills, i believe non noob means someone who is not a noob. correct me if im wrong :]

"detective-like deduction" is not needed. i was just wondering what a non noob is.

Without reading all this bickering, I gradually pulled on the straightaway vs. a c6 z06 with my 425 rwhp lsx fd. Not sure what was done to it, but it definetely had an aftermarket exhaust fwiw.

Sounds about right to me. I figured an FD in the low-mid 400hp would be able to take it. I wouldnt even try and speculate from a dig since alot of that has to do with drivers, tire, etc....

It weighed in last year at 2767 with ~5/8 tank of gas, without me of course! The car traps 124 mph pretty consistently, but I am going through the traps well above the cam's powerband at the top of 4th.

Bingo!

I believe Matty ran a modified C5 Z06 that trapped higher than he did but on a roll he pulled it? Matty?

yes a few times. he trapped 119mph maybe even 120mph sometimes....i trap 118mph.

he did nothign but put down my rotary for 4 yrs....then i proceeded to rape him on the hwy ...baby baby!my stock twin fd vs his c5 z06 with intake exhaust headers blah blah.

what was amazing waas that even on intial punch i would jump him. the twins spool amazing second gear roll to 140mph! i gained in every gear...albeit not much

This is true what rx7TT is talking about, over the summer i did some pulls with a pretty modded z06 who was claiming 126mph traps, and beating t51kai supras, when i did a pull i jumped him and held a car till the top of 3rd gear from about 4k in second. A while later, we did more pulls on the highway, from 45-120 i pulled right next to him, he was only inching on me. Ill have to get next to a stock c6Z and see if i really can hang with one.

/\ claiming key word. Dont forget even though they might trap a little more we got top end where as they have off the line acceleration. Lets not forget that we weight 300lbs less
