BTW, did you get to meet an instructor by the name of Toby Milne at the Audi event at VIR ?
If so, did he bring his 5.0-liter Ford powered Mercedes 190E ?
Take care,

Yep, that's his car. He was my instructor at Roebling Road in the Merc 500E.
His 190E rocks. It can pull AWAY from a 930 twin-turbo 911 down the front straight at Roebling.

No you should NOT be in the novice group. Move up so you have some space to find a nice consistent rhythm.

I'll just put some good stockers in it and sell it. It's not a track car and it would cost too much to make it one..
BTW I have some nice m2 ball bearing twins if anyone is interested
Like new condition and they made 387 at 17 psi (might of only been 15psi I can't remember and I lost the dyno sheet) with a sweet torque curve.
I found it hard to believe it myself, but it's the second time now... I ran down the straight with one at WGI too. The final corners are similar, basically downshift to quick 3rd w/ light brake, upshift to 4th right at T.O. Ran up to 150 mph at Summit, shutting off at first pylon (i'm a p***y under braking).
I'm at 345 @ 12, plus it was nice and cold and coulda creeped a little. Highest IAT's I saw all day were mid 50's C... plus I suppose I could've gotten a little draft tow at 100+.
Looking like later in the week, I'll call ya.

I'd say you have 335 rwhp max at 12psi and he has 400 plus so the math doesn't add up. I think those cars are geared pretty damn well too and lord know the torque can handle the weight.
Anytime this week is good

Pete,
Would you agree that with equal drivers the vette wins
150 down the front straight is definitely a testament to how strong your car is running and braking at the 1st marker at that speed doesn't exactly make you a ***** more like someone with common sense

Fritz, hope you found the present in your truck's CD player.
It was a great event. I was sad to not have my car with me, but I am confident that had I taken the time to get it ready that the weather would have been sleet and snow. The group has me to thank for not bringing the car and therefore providing great weather.
The HD camera Section8 is talking about is a Sony HDR-FX1. It's almost 7lbs and we had to really rearrange the camera mount to get it to fit in Joe's FD. The footage is spooky. I need to get it online so Joe can enjoy it.
Get this, the three 20-25 minute sessions we got in HD are almost 17 gigabytes. HD sure takes up space.
I had a fantastic student and a great session driving his STI. All in all, a great weekend that will make the long winter's nap a bit more tolerable.
Great to see more old friends in this thread.

For sharing of track videos, I like the current DV resolution with a wide-angle lens, and it will still get compressed/lose resolution if you share long clips on YouTube and the likes.

Not sure what the codec is but M$ has some proprietary HD WMV format that's floating around out there on the internet and looks pretty decent. Alternatively a nice 720p or higher MPEG-2 would be great too. Looking forward to vids! Sorry can't help out with the bandwidth though, my server is tapped out
Talked to Bill the other day and he's going to try and get some compressed quality vids up online - even with compression he says they are still much better looking than any other video he's seen.
