series 4 motor power fc?

hey guys quick question i have a 1987 mazda rx7 turbo series 4. on apexi's website they list there Power FC to work from 86-91 but when i look for dealers i can only find them in the S5 version. i know the wireing is different even from 87 to 88 there are differences so how do i go about ordering a Power FC for the series 4 motor.

you buy the FD one (series 6) part number 414-Z004 or get one used. Then you buy the Banzai Racing adapter kit.

There is not a difference between the 87 & 88 wiring at the ECU. The S5 (89-91) is completely different from the S4 (86-88)

The Banzai adapter is to have an FD PowerFC work on an FC. If you buy the PowerFC for the FC, you don't need the adapter. But it is strange how they have a PowerFC for the FC now and don't have them separate. Maybe they make it to order? You would have to ask them.

The website is wrong. The only PFC you can buy new that will work is part #414AZ004 for series 6 FD. The other one is the AP Engineering unit, part #4E14Z02Z but it is in fact discontinued: http://www.nengun.com/apexi/power-fc...ap-engineering . That is the same basic box as the Series 6 unit but it has a different programming in the EPROM. The included basemap is different and it can drive the FC coils without modification. It also includes an adapter harness that fits the S5 wiring harness only.

For an s4 car it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to get the AP Engineering unit, as you will have to get it used and you will still have to buy the Banzai adapter kit. Just buy #414AZ004 or get one used off the FD parts section on this forum.
