For the most part. After running for a while it starts to smoke quite a bit. That's why I asked about a full yet basic rebuild.

Yeah, that's what I've read. I want to keep it stock. I've heard that Atkins rotary is the way to go as far as rebuild kits... Is that so?

re. the smoke, as you seem to know you're likely looking at a tired engine needing a rebuild.

in the meantime change the oil to something that keeps its viscosity when warm. the newer engines need oils which are super 'thin', your old donk can likely handle something a bit 'thicker' as you're not dealing with factory tolerances anymore.

also, check the oil metering pump, might be jamming open. if it's acting up an option with this is disconnecting it and tossing 2-stroke oil (pre-mix) straight in to the tank.

nothing worse than a smokey engine.

For sure. Well my stepdad and I are working on this together and he's in the middle of moving away and I work long hours. So, that being said, we are considering selling the car.

don't sell!

find a cheap late model 12A, toss it in and you're away.

Yeah. I really won't have the time to dedicate to it for years and years. Between school, work, wife etc. hopefully it will go to someone who has the time to dedicate to it. On top of everything else we'll be moving soon and having it transported is a lot of $$$

it'd cost me at least $3k-$4k in shipping alone to bring it to Oz...

ha, man i'd love to ****** it from you guys.

hopefully you get a decent amount for it. that interior alone would be worth $2k here. that's the stuff you can't replace with factory. bodywork and mechanical, although expensive, can be sussed.

Thanks man. That's not bad considering they want $2k to transport it to PR. Hopefully someone will see the true beauty of it and pick it up for a fair price. Time will tell

New owner is from New Jersey. He's not on the forum though. I've been in touch with him since he got it. Floors have been cut out and replaced and body work has begun. I'll try and get pics from him and maybe keep everyone up on progress.
