KY 1977 RX-3 SP Project

It has been awhile since I posted any information on this project. I purchased the car last year in June an have been slowly getting parts for it. Had the opportunity to work on this car this weekend. Having a 3 year old and a 5 year old keep things entertaining around here. The body is straight with some surface rust areas here and there. Engine will be a 13B Full BridgePort with goopy seals, lighten rotors, race bearings, modified stationary gears, lighten flywheel, Everything clearanced and balanced. Exhaust will be a custom 3" GT Apexi. Turbo II transmission and just too much to list right now. Here are some pics.

KY Taking care of the rust

Here is the preliminary work. I will eventually take everything off and re-coat but for now I think it will be ok.

KY Taking care of rust

The engine bay. This is a pain in the butt. I will definately tackle the engine bay once I have everything running. That is my main focus now. It's to have the car running.

KY Transmission

A quick cleaning the the TII transmission with shifter modification. Test fitted the location of the shifter to the RX-3. Fits nicely.

KY MSD Boxes

Mock fitting of the MSD Boxes. Don't want them in the engine bay cause of the heat. Battery relocated to the trunk of the car.

KY More to come

There is still lots of work to be done. But everyone knows that money rules and time follows. I am pretty sure everyone is interested in the port work done on the engine. Unfortunately, my boy Gordon is extremely particular of his work and will not allow me to post pics of it. Needless to say it's not your convetional port work.... What are your thoughts on this build. I'm curios to know.

KY Rx-2

The RX-2 has not gone anywhere. I still have it and my 5 year old son has total ownership of it. He calls it HIS race car......lol. I learned alot from building the RX-2. I swore I would never do another build like that and 7 years later, I'm at it again. I'm trying hard not to go over budget, but as we speak I'm a $1500 over with lots of work left to do. It's mainly cosmetic but it's still gonna cost money and time. If the RX-3 was not an SP, I would have walked away from it. I have seen nice RX-3's on this forum, craigslist and ebay for sale that just needed an engine and transmission but really was not intrested. I just want to get the car running and worry about the rest later. The car should be running by late August, I hope.
