Hello everyone. I'm a college student at Virginia Commonwealth University. I have always admired and loved the rotary. This year I'm finally ready to purchase my first rotary. I'm waiting on the market right now, looking for a beautiful FC to come along. I know this is suppose to be an "Owners" thread, but I wanted to introduce myself. I've been around for a few years lurking on this forum with a different alias, but decided to finally enter the scene. I hope I can recieve some kind guidence from everyone in the future.

Well I'd offer you mine but it's a little on the beat up side currently (coolant seal is in process of going).

My suggestions:
-know your budget
-get a good idea what you want the car for, a car set-up for autoX won't be so great at drifting and vice versa
-read ALL the stickied info at the top of the second gen forum
-watch craigslist like a hawk, and this site, and maybe autotrader
-don't by an automatic
-get a Haynes manual
-come out to Starbucks on Friday nights

OH for those of you that weren't at Starbucks this Friday you guys missed Terry's Nissan S15 Silvia. It was sweeet!!!!

Hey niburu, thanks for the great tips. I saw some pictures that you posted of your fc's. They still look amazing.

Welcome ZeroSword! I've got an extra Haynes manual if you'd like it, it's a little old (I seriously think it's from like 89 although I haven't checked...). If you check Craigslist, I think there's at least two FC's on there now... Also, what is ZeroSword?? I KNOW I've heard it before but I can't place it...

Terry's friend Chris also brought out his blue S15, so there actually 2 there

hey would anyone be interesd in both my FC's?
with all the associated parts and peices and everything for a grand total of $4K

I'm thinking about paying some debt off and using the Miata for autoX for awhile till I can swing an FD project.

or maybe a FFR Cobra challenge car......

I'm not sure where zerosword came from. I just placed two words I thought sounded cool together. Though I think zerosword might refer to the sword that the character "Zero" from Megaman uses.

Thanks for the offer for the haynes manual, but I went out and got one already after reading niburu's post. Now I sort of wish I waited a bit.

No that's the Z-Saber. But MEGAMAN FTW!!! Lol...

It's all good. Just let me know if you find someone who wants one.

If you don't mind my inexperience, then I would gladly take one off your hands.

sure, for a mere $1500 you can have the black one with all it's goodies, or $1k returned to stockcondition

and in case you missed on the previous page

I am officially selling the black ‘90 FC of mine.
150k miles, 5spd, GTU

Here is what I have on it:

Suspension:
-Racing Beat: springs, adjustable endlinks front and back, and front swaybar w/poly mounts
-Tokico Illumina adjustable struts
-Corksport front and rear strut tower braces
-2 new front lower swaybar mounts (on the lower control arm)

Brakes:
-new pads 2 years ago
-I have, but not installed yet a full set of brake rotors, still in their boxes
-Corksport stainless steel braided brake lines - (in new condition, still in packaging)

Drivetrain:
-all new shifter bushings
-new Exedy HD clutch
-Corksport SS braided clutchline
-new master and slave cylinders
-Trans replace w/used 1 year ago
-drive shaft replace w/used 2 years ago

Other New Stuff
-new dual pass all metal radiator
-new thermostat and housing
-new water pump (not a rebuilt unit either)
-Optima redtop battery
-rebuilt lighting switch with safety relay to keep it from burning out again (from Icemark), new lighting harness
-new catalytic converter
-custom 2.5" single catback exhaust
-Sylvania Silverstar headlights
-new NGK plugs and wires
-Sony Explode Stereo (not one of the tacky red ones)

I'd like to get $1500 with everything on there
or $1000 with all the goodies stripped off - I kept most of the original stuff I replaced so I could put all that back on, though I’d rather not
The AC works, the power mirrors work, the sunroof works, that hatch works.
There is a bunch of other stuff I've bought that I cant remember, I'll have to through the receipts.

Additionally for sale:
-rear Racing Beat sway bar w/poly mounts - $50 (new condition, never installed)
-Borbet Type "S" wheel with a corded set of Hoosiers on them - $300 (rare wheel, Borbet discontinued them 2 years ago, I used them as my autoX wheels, they weigh under 13 pounds)
It is still running and available for test drives.
She’ll make a great parts or project car for someone.

Just so he knows Dave, cause I don't actually see it on that post, But ZS, the coolant seal in this one is pretty much toasted...

MegaMan X was pretty much the best game series ever after Zelda...

MY BAD, I keep forgetting that the new guys probably haven't been reading the whole thread, I know I mentioned it several times on previous pages in the thread but not in that post. (please see post #5148)
That is why though I did say it would make a good project or parts cars.
Sorry ZS didn't mean to mislead anyone.
Saavedro and I are both unfortunately in the same boat with coolant seals going in our motors.
I did drive it down to Starbucks last Friday however, this Friday will be the white ones turn.

I love Zelda games, played ever single one to date. Heck, I'm playing "Link to the Past" right now as well.

It's cool niburu; I knew about the coolant seal. Right now I'm weighing my options. Money won't be getting in til the end of this month, so I still have much to think about.

And if nobody buys by the end of summer, I'll be parting the car out.
Of course I'll be then keeping certain items for myself.......

Robin got 13 out of 45 at the track some weekends this month!!!!!!!!!!!

Now he just needs better wheels (or learn to drift) and stick a supercharger on there and he'd be number one, hahaha. (just kidding about drifting)

Well damn... I lost the sale on that S5 motor, so if anyone knows where I can pick up a low-no compression / blown coolant seal / basically rebuild-ready S5 shortblock, I'd be really REALLY appreciative...

damn dude that sux!
need to find you a nice safe boring neighborhood here in the westend (soon to be officially be Henrico and not Richmond)

any particular tools we should keep an eye out for?
watch Craigslist for them to pop-up on

sadly it was most likely someone in your neighborhood involved in the theft

could've been worse, they coulda stole the car too

That's still up to debate. I use both and for different reasons. One for gaming other for chatting.

Any who i think i broke an engine mount in the 91 at the strip tonight. Gonna check it out tomorrow.

And i don't think my 5th and 6th ports are working. I removed and cleaned as to cakes guide but i haven't seen a difference nor could i see the actuators moving. They open up about 3800 rite? is that under load or should it also open under free revving.
