Hey guys. A widow of a older gentleman here in the Richmond area (he had emailed me about buying some of my 1st gen parts) emailed me looking for a reputable mechanic who works on 1st gens. She wants to keep his car but can't really work on it. I'm a hack at best but looking for someone I'd feel comfortable recommending to her. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Had a done a search first (yea I'm lazy at times) I would have found Mitchum Enterprises as niburu has recommended. Any other options for 1st gens or has everyone had good experiences there?
it also depends on what she needs done, any competent mechanic should be able to work on everything except maybe the motor on that car
ie; you need to be a rotary specialist to do the brakes

I must not have had my coffee yet when I typed it
not as far as I know

I think he was talking to me...
No, who is Dave? How would I know him?
I just picked up a 86 GXL for $400 in Great condition. Really the only thing wrong with it is the TPS (which I'm working on getting).
My only intentions are to make it an Awesome DD/comfortable cruiser. Clean up the exterior and make it look nice, a decent exhaust, maybe an intake, clean up the interior and put in a decent sound system. All in all, just make it a very clean, good looking FC.
OH yeah... and fix the sunroof in time for warm weather...

"I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a... fraid. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you..."
I would, probably today even, but my car isn't even registered yet. I'm waiting on a new title...
Anybody want to buy that fd that I found? I’m thinking that I’m going to sell it and pay off part of my school loan, and do some more work on my turbo fc.
Good:
Touring
73000 miles
Good compression
Boosts good
Good body.
Mostly stock
Bad:
no 5th gear (no grinding like a bad synkro (sp), just nothing there)
Rear bumper is burnt
Needs some miner body work and paint (there is some plastic in the fender that needs to be ground out and done right, nothing major)
Dash is painted red
Pm or call me if you are interested, I’m not sure how much to ask for it, so I will consider offers.

I live close to ODU in Norfolk, and will be home on the evenings if you want to look at it
edit: see this thread for more info on the car
