well I am now officially a RX7 owner.
About a 1/4mile from my house the logicon lights up everything.
crap
look at guages everythings ok
100 feet from the driveway I get a shot of steam from the hood
crap crap
coast into the driveway, check guages temp guage is at 3/4
shut the car down and flip the hood open
the alternator belt is broken and the water pump belt is off
I thought all the belts were new but appparently the alternator belt wasn't
guess I'll need to get a repair manual
it's dried and cracked on further inspection on whats left of it

Looks like the drift event was fun in the rain.
I picked up the GTU this weekend. To my surprise, it runs and it's not in bad shape at all. I pulled the spare motor apart and everything is junk except for 1 rotor housing, so that kinda sucks. Should be a fun project!

On continued further inspection I don't like one of the other belts either, so I am going to replace them all. I must say it is real easy to get the belts off and on compared to every other car I've ever owned, the tensioners are very easy to work with.

I need a few parts, can anyone help me out? I don't feel like going to CAP, because when I do they see me coming and get rid of all the 2nd gen RX-7s:

Drivers side FTP
Radio Surround
Drivers side door trim

the belt for the P/S pump doesn't fit right, friggin autozone
I'm going to go to NAPA for the last belt (where all the old belts are from)
I am 99% sure I am running the rex at the sept 26 AutoX @ VMP
for the sept 19th event out in Verona (BRRSCCA) I'm going to run the Ghia
my parents bought a place out in Stuarts Draft back in January (15 minutes away from Verona) they have a really nice workshop/garage, it's 900 sqft
my sway bars for the ghia finally arrived so that should tighten up the cornering nicely

I need the whole surround piece (around vents, controls, ash tray, ect.), but I can use the stock stereo. Hopefully the old plug is still in tact.

ok thats whats meant by the stereo surround, stereo was working when I had it taken out, and looks to be in good shape, it's all yours (glad I didn't chuck it) and got the belts back on at lunch today, put in a 1/2 gallon of coolant, and runs just fine. Tonight I double check the belt tensions.
