Wow, looks like I've been gone for a while.

I can't remember if I told you guys or not, but I'm keeping the GTU.
Soooooo, the interior is gone and is gonna stay gone. Engine bay is sparkly clean, too. I'm gonna make it my autoX/track car. My quest for FTD should end soon.

I'm keeping the stock seats and the dash in. They aren't bolted down yet, since I may need some room to install the roll cage. I may need racing seats later, but that's later.

Calvin, keep an eye out if you go to the HPDE event this weekend or Nov. 7th weekend. I'll be there with my Dad (white 'vette, HPDE 2).
I'll keep the AIK event in mind. A few friends and I were thinking about making a trip down there.

Have any of you fellas seen the blonde in the red, vert FC running around town? I passed her today on 64, and she looked rather hot from a distance.

BTW, what show is on the 13th?

I think most folks that attend/work those shows stay at the Holiday Inn that's right off of 64. It's also right next to Laburnum Ave. which runs directly to the RIR complex. In walking distance i wouldn't want to stay, the area is kinda rough.
I can offer you a spare room and an air mattress at my house.

Yeah, the only hotels with walking distance probably rent rooms by the hour, IYKWIM.
Bring a friend and rent a car for the weekend?

I'll have to wait untill next year to get the GTU going anyway. I won't have enough time to do any real work to it until I graduate. There is a ton of work to do!

BTW, in two weeks, I'll be a full time engineer with UPS! I still have 6 weeks left in school, so it's gonna be tough for a while.

I'm up for G-force. October 29th, does that mean we have to wear costumes? I think I'll dress up as a race car driver. Oh wait, I already am.

Richmond race track

I was surprised I did not see any of you guys at the Richmond race track on Friday night . The place was crowded but you were able to make a bunch of runs . My fastest time was 13.5 but Im sure once I get the wheel hop problem taken care of , that this will be a 12 sec car .Maybe some of you Richmond guys will have come out or finished up what ever projects you might be working on

Later

For me, I'm not a big straightline racing fan - I don't disapprove or anything it's just not my thing. Not a big fan of racing in a circle either, again not a hater either. I have always wondered what it would like to run an autoX at night where you can only see a limited amount of the course in front of you.

We used to put on night autocrosses at the Virginia Beach Pavillion. We used to do very low key events on like a tuesday night. We called it Tuesday Night Thunder. They were actually lots of fun. The deal with the pavillion was they would not know until the previous weekend if we could have the site for that night or not. They would tell us on Saturday and we would announce the event at the Sunday event right before it. It is hard to describe, but everyone that ran the events loved them.

wow, that sounds badass.. i wish there was somewhere around here we could do that...

anyone know where i can get a rolling fb chassis for cheap. 84/85 perfered, also, would like a lsd and rear disks, but i wont be too picky. im talking really cheap here. i would prefer either no motor, blown motor, but i wont be complaining if it is running.

also, i have a 'friend' looking for a 302 (these items are not related, i sware). anyone have one of those for cheap as well?

I have a 83 GSL (LSD + rear discs), 300 and it's yours. Take the transmission out and sell it for ~100...it only has about 50K on it since it was rebuilt.

edit for more bs info

Chassis/motor has 185K. Motor was running when I parked it 4 years ago, but it was drinking coolant/oil like a starving ethiopian.
