Paying off some school debt and the sort. I have 2 of the 3 pieces i need to fix it and i am only $35 deep. If If i get the Corksport Border Type II bumper that will set me back $400 or so. It is all up in the air now though.

No plans for me until 1-11. Dave, i went to G-Force to watch today and a buddy of mine needed another team mate. Damn, what a work out. It was a blast though.

I think we'll just meet at Rosen on Saturday, unless you can think of a good place to meet up. We could meet under the bridge in the bottom and drive up Main to the Boulevard, if the weather doesn't suck.

I updated the site with more rebuild photos n stuff. I did some high speed testing last night and tried to take a photo of the speedometer. I'll put em on the site tonight. It's really bumpy at 120.

I have 3 of the 4 grommets that I need. The rest will be here Friday morning. Zach, do you want to try to start planning the trip back down to Gloucester to put the engine in? Any weekend is good for me, just let me know.

Dave, do you have the phone number to Circle Auto? I am going to call and see if he will come down on the price for that fender that was in the fire since it has a little rust.

Friday the 17th? That is fine with me. You may not have to drive your truck. I think I will have a way to get it down there.

Edit: Dave, I may be thinking of Russell's. Can't remember the names of all of the yards. I found a Russell's Towing and Salvage at 932-8280. I will give them a try.

well... it worked! kinda..

my teacher decided to do it instead of me. it took a little longer than usual, but it came out. theres just a little too much taken out of the sleeve, so this housing is trash. but it will make a cool display piece with one of my dad's rotors. anyways.. here are the pictures. i think its doable with a little more care. good thing i got it for free at circle.

Damn not bad! Do you think it's worth the trouble if it can melt down the sleeve so easily?

I have a couple questions about this Saturday:
1. Who is going to do a dyno pull (Me, Robin, Brian...)
2. Are we taking bets on the numbers? Closest without going over.

Heres my guess:
Me: 138
Brian: 147 untuned, 155 tuned
Robin: 130, sorry, but that drop off at 7K is gonna rob you.

yea, definately. im not possitive on numbers, but arent TII housing like $400 a piece? i would rather take 5-10 minutes out of my day to melt out the sleeves, than $800 for some housings. it really didnt take long at all. he put the torch on there, started to blow, nothing, let it sit for a second, and it got RED, blew it right out. i think its a major problem with the extra parts that came out. but im thinking if your carefull, it shouldnt be too bad. plus, if you mess up, you can always fall back on the TII housings.

also, can you just buy the TII sleeves? we tried to drill out the sleeves in the 2 pin holes (not possitive that was what was holding it in, but it looked like it) but it melted the drill bit.

im making a run.. just for ***** and giggles . actually, im interested to see a dyno of my car. not many people on the first gen forum can produce one thats not highly modified.

thats sweet zach, it doesnt top out at 120 does it? heres one of mine at idle

I am not a betting man, but if i were I would say 130 for me is pusing it. Zach, when are you free this week? I want to see if we can figure out for sure if my 6 ports are working. I would also like to test the VDI...I think that is pretty easy as well. I would love to knock this hesitation bullshit out before saturday.

I never got my first gen over ~125-8. It would just sit at ~5-6K/rpm and not move at all.

I'm still going to watch...

No, the only problem is the road I'm on has a few bridges and bumps that get the rear of the car in the air over 100, so I have to plan my run which usually doesn't last very far into 5th gear. The fastest I've gone is 125 before I ran out of room and it wasn't accelerating very fast. Something like 1mph every second in fifth gear, which is very slow when the road is getting short! You can't really see the bridge at night when your going that fast and you don't want to hit the brakes and get the car upset before you get airborn. You just have to let off the gas so the engine doesn't over-rev. I think 140 is out of the question, for me anyway.
