Maryland guys!
But don't worry, I won't be buying any more. The divorce is almost final, an my credit rating is just about in the ******* now because of that bitch
Long time no speak, but i have some updates:
I hate tie rod ends. srsly, they suck big time.
september fudds meet?
anyone know where to find a defi temperature sender?
I met someone who's trying to get rid of an '85 GSL with 160k, he's looking to get $3000 out of it. I have not seen the car and he doesn't have any pictures of it yet, but if anyone is interested i'll move on it.
Quote from a 50something double divorcee:
Why is divorce so expensive? Because it's worth it!

Pick a date and make a thread!
Is there $2700 in cash in the glove box? I'm not one to bash on other people's rides, but.. there seems to be an extra zero in there
Well, since she is now (and has been since before the split, though of course she denies it) with the guy she swears she was just friends with for the last four years, I prefer this one: "The best best revenge you can have on the ******* that steals your wife is to let him keep her."
Of course, since I am much happier, the saying is more or less "good riddance" right now. All I am waiting for is my lawyer to get some of my stuff back since she emptied the goddamn house out.

Can't yet, the Navy is jerking me around. I'll look in to it. To all those reading- any sundays we should avoid?
I don't know the guy from a hole in the ground. I was at the hobby shop working on my car. He says despite the mileage it's in good shape. I haven't seen it and i can't vouch for his character.
It's all a wicked game. I've seen it played far too many times. The 50something is a former co-worker.

The only thing I can think of that'd put it at this price is being Rust Free (Wheel wells and doors are especially prone to rusting. If it's a southern car or garage kept and never driven in rain, this is likely.)
Having the glass sunroof would be a bonus.
Mileage is WAY too low to have blown an engine, but high enough that it would not have like new compression... I'd say he's not gaining any points by telling me it has a rebuild.
Aftermarket wheels or an aluminum radiator and oil cooler would be nice.
I'm with Crash Test Joey on this. Not that it has an extra zero on it, but it's definitely double what an average condition, IE Daily driven. 1st gen goes for.

In good condition it could easily be worth $6,000 - $7,000. And there are people who would gladly pay much more, if the condition justified it.
There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about the meaning of "good condition." Some people might ask $3,000 for an RX-7 they claim is in "good" condition, yet would need over $25,000 in parts, and hundreds of hours of labor. Apart from the engine condition, rotten hoses, ripped seats, broken or missing interior trim, worn out suspensions, cracked glass, corroded/brittle wiring, missing components, rust spots, and bad paint are not characteristics of a car in "good condition."
Unfortunately too many RX-7's have been neglected, abused, and subjected to crude repairs and modifications by shade-tree mechanics lacking the skills, resources, or both to properly maintain their cars. I've practically given up hope of finding one in true "good condition".

It's all subjective though. I wouldn't have paid $7k for a 1st Gen off the showroom floor. But I paid $3800 for my 2nd gen because it actually IS in good condition, almost great condition. It's a matter of where your taste is I guess.
$3K does seem a little high. I paid $2.6K for my GSL-SE with all documentation on the service from first sold-as-new, rebuild engine with 20K on it, glass roof and standard roof, aftermarket stereo (although that's since proven to be a hassle since the install was a bit sloppy), spare set of wheels with good tires, a radiator, and an exhaust system - still overpaid a little I think (seller can smile

If I can get enough to cover the price of the bench, I'll be happy. Maybe I could set up a group buy and after the bench is payed for I'll go for $10 a pop.
Basically the setup is:
1) Strip and clean the outside of the injector
2) Test injectors electrically (resistance\current)
3) Flow it so there will be a "Before" recording
4) Remove the parts (filter/orings/pintle/etc)
5) Ultrasonic cleaning with and without injector cycling
6) Flow test again, check spray pattern
I don't have the new filters and pintles and o rings, but it's not too expensive for new stuff.
Maybe if there is enough interest I can get that stuff, but then the price goes up.

EDIT: some of my pintle caps are also broke, so I would need some new caps as well
