Engine pulling day!

OK, I've got Joey's hoist(THANKS!) I'd like to pull the engine and trans out of my parts car this weekend.

What: Engine & Tranny pulling
When: Sat, 26-apr-2008 (this sat) 10am
Where: 11231 Greenspring Ave, 21093 (PM for detailed directions)
Food: Pizza/Chicken/BBQ(we'll vote!) and Beer/Soda/IcedTea(all)
AND: Anybody who comes can have pretty much anything they want off the parts car
YOU: I've never done this so any help/knowledge/etc will be highly appreciated!

Any tools I need other than sockets, open-end, box, screwdrivers?

I'll be reading the FSM this week!!

with 2 people, thats no more than a few hours of work and pretty simple to do.
disconnect everything that attaches engine and tranny to the car (wires, hoses, etc) leaving only the mount points ahead of time. drive shaft may be interesting depending on your exhaust system.

just take your time and don't rush or you can potentially break something you didn't want to.

P.S that mazda FSM is a piece of crap.

VAX, I won't be able to make it. My Jeep popped an axle seal so I'll be pressing in some new bearings on the D44 shaft tomorrow.

Thanks for the offer! With no takers at this point for today, I'm gonna re-schedule for next Sat (May 3) and get better organized here. Looks like it might rain later anyway. I'm gonna be in calif all week, so I wouldn't be able to do anything with it during the week anyhow.

I'm assuming you're replying to the original post which was made like 4 years ago

We usually all meet up at fuddruckers in Columbia every month, you just missed this months, but you should try to make it to the next one.

There is also KDR in PA, and Rotary Resurrection in TN if you want to get it done relatively cheap.

Rotary Resurrection is gunna be the cheapest no matter where you go. i Got quotes from all the places mentioned above and they wanted $3000+. Rotary resurrection did my car for $2250 + like i think $250-$300 shipping and i got a streetporting, gasket kit, and mazda 3mm apex seal conversion. Btw there quotes didnt include the above.
