the tunable part isnt visible unless you dismantle the box. i only glanced at them in the past and saw they translated an AFM signal from a MAF. thought they were hard set and still needed something like an SAFC to tune it with.

I did lean out my fuel curve a bit and car responds a lot better. still a dog at idle when engine is cold (tried with warmup enrichment on and off to see if that would make a difference)

i need to get a new sensor for my LS1 to set the air/fuel ratio properly.

I know for a fact that the stock O2 sensor is coated in carbon (since the muffler is flat black inside it from unburned fuel igniting in cat) and the spark plugs are prob fouled from running so rich, theyre next to replace to try and help. prob bout time to replace anyway

Lol hows it going? I was in the navy for a while, before I sold the rx7. I'm definitely back into 7's!

This new rx7 I picked up on friday or so, need to connect the IC/radiator/exhaust/ecu ish things. Its just sitting in a garage atm. I kinda want to strip out the interior/get the whole car resprayed. Cool thing is on the old motor(this one is brand new mazda remanufactured motor) the car made like 450hp at like 16psi or so. its a bigggggg single turbo fd. And I got it for a hell of a price. If anyone wants to come around and help me piece it back together I'll buy the beer and food! Could probably put all the engine accessories in in probably 3-4hours....I need to put in the new fuel system(one thing I'm not comfortable with at all).

But things been going well...just work all the freakin time! and JASON I need to take you up on that dinner invite!

Need help pulling motor/trans

Guys,
My convertible's tranny has started making the most teeth-wrenching grinding noises. And I've talked to Jason about rebuilding the engine, so it sounds like a 2-fer! I've got a engine and tranny in my parts car (see sig) but need help pulling it out (never done that!). Is this an evening or whole day or weekend effort? And I don't have a hoist...any help? I'd really like to have this back together and the roof replaced before the BBQ...

it should be pretty simple. just disconnect all the hoses and wires and then unbolt the motor/transmission mounts and yank it out

engine lifts aren't that expensive, but I'm sure someone here would let you barrow one.

Emory -

You can borrow my engine hoist if you can come pick it up. I sold my truck and have only the RX7 at the moment. You've been here so you'll remember how to find it. Just let me know if you want it.

As far as R&R - I don't see why it would take you more than a weekend to do it. Especially if you can get someone to come help ya. Unfortunately my weekends are pretty booked up since I have 4 articles to write for the magazine that are actually past due already. But I am sure there's a couple guys who wouldn't mind lending a hand.

The following phrase was actually used one day at work in a conversation involving one of the server projects I oversee"

"Your mom opens hyperspace windows" in the style of napoleon dynamite

Anyone plan on being at MIR this evening? I figure with the Tiki bar opening here down in the Southern portion, MIR should be pretty empty.
