Anyone going to OC this weekend? I was thinking about going down Sunday and chilling at the car show. I know turbodrx7 and joey are going. Was hoping to meet up with them and just relax and see some cars.
Depends on how much I get done on saturday.

Jason: i found someone selling a 1980 Suz GS850 for $450 OBO. think i should go for it?
its complete (running/driveable) but he says it needs some work. carb, voltage regulator and clutch have been repaired/replaced. and comes with other parts to make it nice.
need to see if i can scrape together the money then to get it as im still waiting on a paycheck that was never sent to me.

Sounds like a great deal to me, depending on what "Needs some work" means.

I'm pretty sure it's the turbo. I took it off and one of the bolts between the bearing housing and the exhaust side was super loose.
Would that cause the oil leaking problems?

i got pics of the bike. it seems pretty decent other than an obvious liquid stain (?oil?) under the bike in the area of the engine. a few rust stains on the chrome and a little on the bottom of the tank.
as for your turbo...YES a loose bolt there can cause issues because its not holding the seal in place for the bearing. thats how the turbo on my new car died. numbnutz broke the compression ring for the bolts when he took a couple out to mount the dipstick to it. so find someone whos got a good one or get it rebuilt, 300ish bucks.

There are 4 reasons (and a few sub reasons) that turbos leak.
- The feed line isn't sealing at the top of the turbo (der)
- The return line is clogged or too small or not angled properly for the gravity drain.
- The seals are screwed up:
- Oil seal is bad or not installed properly or out of spec
- Dynamic/carbon seal is broken or wrong type used per the application.
- The oil pressure is too high and leaking out of the weakest point in the turbo. This will happen if your not using the stock oil feed line.
