i honestly have no idea how this car will run. it was being built for 500 rwhp though with much higher flow turbo (which im getting upgraded to double ball bearing to kill lag), bigger injectors, and a monster of an intercooler that i have to figure how to mount.

also remember that i have next to no experience driving turbos, only one being eriks when the turbo was bust on it and i wanted to see how bad.

OT: theres a red FD in columbia area i keep seeing but i dont think its Jesse's, anyone know who it is? cars in next to mint on outside it looks like.

Also OT: i got my class M license yesterday. if yer looking, take the class thru Howard Community College as they offer it every 2 weeks with classes of 12-24. its guided by motorcycle safety foundation so you get a card that gets insurance discount. 330 bucks for 2 nights and 2 days of instruction.

Seriously now.... why would something in this thread need to be noted as "off topic" ?

And on your OT note... do you have a bike already? I'm thinking of selling my R1, since my back is still so screwed I just don't know if I should keep it sitting around losing value. (No I'm not trying to get you to buy it... was just curious)

I want a bike, however if I get a bike, i'll be inclined to drop my current project in favor of something super fast and super easy to self terminate on.

Joey, you get your new lifters?

no i dont have a bike and prob wont have the funds for one for a while unless you would accept a late payment. i had to take a loan just to get my car.

i am looking at getting a sport bike eventually as i prefer the style more for cornering. i almost dragged a foot peg in class with a suzuki 250 :-p

R1 isn't really a good first bike for most people.

why? there is less room for error so you don't pick up bad habits.

I learned to drive clutch on an 81 CJ7 and now I'm pretty sure I could drive anything with a stick because it's bound to be easier than that.

I can't stand riding in a manual car with someone who is just really terrible at driving stick because there car is forgiving enough for them to get away with it.

EDIT: that being said, I don't think it would be a good idea to get an R1 as a first bike either

After you've been riding for awhile, the excitement of riding something fast fades somewhat, and you're able to think clearly and pay attention to other stuff. When I got my first sportbike, I rode it everywhere, every day, whenever and wherever I could. By the time I bought this one (6th bike), it became strictly recreational. I used to commute on it once in awhile just to keep it from sitting. I think I have about 6k miles on it after 3+ years. It's only been ridden once since last August because of my back.

JPC should have lifters in stock, so hopefully Ryan is working on it at this moment. I haven't gotten down there today, been doing family guy stuff all day.

And no, I don't think an R1 would be a good starter bike. When I rode it last, I kinda forgot how fast it was and got up to an indicated 165mph while heading up I-97, with a fair bit of traffic around. I usually don't ride like that, I just pinned the throttle and it took off with a mind of it's own

very good eyes. it was parked outside my moms neighborhood in olney. thing looked like it belonged in the dicaprio version of romeo and juliet.

got the wiring fixed so my car can actually use an optima battery (cables were originally too short). got my oil filter relocated to behind the passenger fog light (stock ones for now) and got intercooler mounted (top 2 inches are behind the bumper though). also got plan of attack to stick air filter behind bumper now. most of the rest I gotta wait on my turbo to get back. borrowing a downpipe from another supra owner so i dont have to worry about my divorced wastegate failing inspection or emissions. still got some hose issues to sort out but it is getting near done.

Well i had purchased a Jegs aluminum battery holder for my optima yellowcap but i cant use it as theres not enough room to install it. i'll sell it to anyone who wants it. perfect if yer doing a trunk mount. cost me over 120 including shipping. asking for only 100

heres a link for a pic of it. http://www.jegs.com/images/photos/500/555/555-10250.jpg

Also: I'm giving away a perfectly good cloth blue 3-seater couch if anyone wants to pick it up

I got a fuel leak under the rats nest. Any " rats nest removal" experts want to help a old guy out and make a few bucks to boot?

Just one laser would be fine.

It's your pulsation dampener. Buy a banjo bolt and I'll help you out with that.
