lol, yes i know, but that's the fastest motherboard/cpu I have lying around

not only does it suck, it's also really expensive, hard to find, and you need to add it in groups of 2

actually...i think they would go bankrupt and go out of business. RAMBUS was a bad deal price and tech wise when it came out.

I am in posession of a HUGE Lucent Switch... It currently is loaded with eighty 10/100 ports but is gigabit capable. You may borrow it if you like.

I also have two rack mountable Compaq Pentium III XEON servers. They are dual processor and one is loaded with two 900 MHz chips, the other two 800 MHz chips. Both at 2mb cache each IIRC... Both have hardware RAID controllers and 5 hotswap bays for SCSI drives. (Can add another set of bays for 10 drives.) I also have a dual P3 machine. I'm unsure of what is in it. The cost for the lot is one lunch at Fuddruckers...

Should I fail to collect said lunch you owe me TWO lunches!

There ARE NO TECH JOBS... Period. The IT industry is gone.

If you're into tech, you can make a mundane $15 an hour or you can get a Security Clearance... Even then, you need some crazy database admin certification or experence with something hardcore like Oracle or something...

**** all that.
Thats not true. My co worker has a GED but a CCNA/MCSE/GCIA and he is making boo-koo bucks.

I have a 2 year associates degree in Music, a CCNA/MCSE/GCIA/A+/CNE and Im making a good living. ONly problem is I have to work 24/7 rotating shifts.. Sucks but I get some interesting times off. Get the CCNA u can get in the industry. The Network + and A+ certs do suck tho.

Intelligent people usually like to associate with other intelligent people. They do not like to hang around primates. There's only so much computer work one can get done while the customer is there throwing feces and swinging from trees... The intelligent tech will snap and kill someone, or at least swear loudly for a while.

The solution is to bring in idiots that are on par with the customer. They feel comfortable with their species. They won't mame the customer and are more docile. Unfortuantely, problems don't easily get solved by idiots.

However customer's aren't too pleased when they're being beaten with a rolled up newspaper either. And happy customers keep giving your company the moneys, so they kinda have an obligation to keep them happy but returning rather than solve the problem effectively.

There's a slight problem though. People have wised up. The tech worker population here has realized they're working with idiots and demanded more money. We've had to import idiots from India and Thailand. (Note where your call goes when you call tech support. :p )

The only people left here working tech are masochists. Dealing with idiots, corperate rules saying you can't hurt the idiots, and low pay... Can't deny it.

Just because you know more than the customer doesnt mean be a butthole about it. Most tech work is customer service related. I am a Sr Analyst where I work, and we have let go a few guys that were so technically gifted they thought they were indispensable. They were wrong, because this job is more than 'hard skills' .. You have to be able to 'please' the customer, meaning they should enjoy the fact that they called and feel happy about the service. Bad service is a bad thing for business, think about all the reasons why we hate going to dealerships. So thinking of the customer as an idiot, that is the beginning of the slipperly slope of arrogance that turns anyone off. I mean, if they are an idiot, and they chose to call you to help them, does that mean they made a bad decision?

I disagree, I have no certs of any form, and I'm working as a software engineer... and I make significantly more than $15 per hour... without a clearance...

why do you people HAVE to date anyway... Why not just enjoy life, and if you meet someone, great, if not, no regrets?

I don't know why people think they HAVE to have someone.

I've found that the *only* person I've ever been with who has lasted (my current girlfriend) was the one who found me when I wasn't looking.
