Maryland guys!

when I first got the car, that was when I took it to that mechanic(the bad one) I knew something was wrong, but I didnt wanna try to fix it myself, so he said so and so was wrong, I said "just fix it",
and for the reacharound? wtf is that? the new fan motors/shroud was like 1300, new stock intercooler/radiator he put in, I didnt know **** about my car back then, I just thought it looked pretty so I bought it, I didnt know it was the monster it was(I was never really into racing when I bought the car, I just thought it was the sexiest beast ever).
Plus it was a rotary engine, I had no clue how to work on it, and I didnt wanna try(plus i had 0 time, working 7 days a week at the time).
However now I do all my own maintainence(after reading up on it) bleeding brake lines/radiator fluid/oil changes/change the brake pads, But I still refuse to put in any aftermarket parts on my car(I suck with this cars wiring big time).
Ray at PFS saved me thousands by me going to him and not the old mechanic >< So I view ray as a godsend !!
I'm fairly new to mechanic work(on cars) I'm and HVAC/contractor at work, but running 12/3 mc through cieling joists is alot different than taking off a dashboard! I have 0 patience when it comes to small little tinkering, I love doing big thing tinkering, and I'm not about to take out my engine(especially when I could be out making money). So I'd just assume just pay somone to do it!

Wow, I took a minute getting here from the main page and stopped to remember the days when we were trying to get more post and views then Virginia.
now...haha, to catch up now they would have to go door to door and teach the remaining part of virginia HOW to use a computer. Good luck with that I say.
I don't really have anything important to say and don't want to bitch like the rest of the werld about gas. But on that note, the del sol is still for sale! $18 gets half a tank and last for about a week in a half or longer driving about 60 miles a day-ish.

Yarg. I'm done working on my car for awhile.
Last weekend... front cover gasket replacement job, 12hrs
This weekend... DTSS elminators, all new rotors/pads... 12hrs... (dtss bushings are fucktarded, and if you don't have an a-frame press.... well lets hope you have a mechanical engineering degree) THEN a friend of mine stopped by and needed his tie rods replaced, then my dad decides he wants he automatic choke fixed on his boat. +4 extra hrs there.
And I still need to install the rear sway links and remove all the heatsheilding around the gas tank since it is rattling non-stop. I also need to re-bleed the brakes again after break in.
My knucles are bloody, it's going to take at least two weeks to get the grease off my hands and I'm dead tired.

I went to Crazy Ray's in Jessup, MD today. Found three FCs and one FB. Two of the FCs were already missing most of the engines, one still had the trans. The third looked mostly intact, interior was gone though. I grabbed a couple speaker boxes for my rear towers and a peice of plastic interior I was missing.

S1 (1978/9-1980): This one's obvious. Different tail lights give it away. Also has thinner side molding... They'll only have a drum brake rear and 12A carbed. I believe the radio antenna will be on the roof as well, above the A-Pillar. The 1980 LS is the sought after model here. Black interior, all leather. Although they are probably not in good shape by now. Don't EVER take ignition components from these cars. Get the later and much better electronic ignition.
S2 (1981-1983): These will have a similar interior to the S1's, Thicker Side molding, and trim badging, if present, will be on the B-Pillar behind the door. The front valence below the bumper should NOT have any grooves for brake cooling. GSL's are available with Limited Slip and Disc brake rears. Still only available with the 12A. 14 inch Limited Edition 1983 wheels are sought after in this. They look to be a BBS type mesh pattern. Stock 1983 LE color is a sea foam green, but it may be repainted.
S3 (1984-1985): These will have grooves under the valence for brake cooling and will have a much different interior and gauge cluster. Trim badging will be on the tail end of the car. In addition to the GSL with the LSD and disc brakes, the much sought after GSL-SE is available with the 6 port EFI 13B. Stock wheels will be different. If no wheels, Rear discs will be vented and there will be wheel studs rather than lug bolts. If the engine is toast, GRAB THE INJECTORS... 680-720 cc injectors are sought after. Suspension wiht larger brakes and the more common bolt pattern is in demand.
GSL-SE bolt pattern is different than any others. GSL-SE runs 4 x 114.3 (4.5") like the 4 lug FC... All other cars run a hard to find 4 x 110mm bolt pattern, hence the demand for 1983 LE wheels, or ANY aftermarket wheels for that matter. If they're not stock wheels on a first gen, best bet is to grab em.
I think 12A rotors are also in high demand. Front and rear are different, and I believe rears blow the most frequently. They can sometimes go for as much as the entire car, according to what I've heard.
Just filled the tank - 39.50 - 93 Octane at 3.25 - wooooo! 9.3 miles to the Gallon! LoL - i really need to get this car running well enough that i don't need to give it so much gas to run smooth.
