Elio, I finally pulled my engine and trans!

On a side note, I'm thinking about selling my Welder. I bought it from a guy who used it about 4 times and I've never used it. It's a like new Lincoln Electric Square Wave 175 Pro AC/DC TIG and stick, I've got an empty argon tank to go with it. If You're interested in it for $1,100 let me know.
I need to downsize, I truly don't have time for projects anymore.

FD Tuning

With PFS history, are there any recommendations for tuning in the mid-atlantic area? Anyone hear of (or have first hand knowledge of) R/T Tuning in PA (R/T Tuning ? Dyno Tuning & Engine Performance Specialists | Philly Area Speed Shop & Dyno Tuning Experts)?

Great referral on RP Performance for suspension work BTW. Bret is super helpful/knowledgeable. Only problem it's in WV and he's usually tied up supporting the racers out there. But the expertise is easily worth those headaches.

RP Performance Racing

They do a lot more with Miatas now but still should know their rotary stuff.

speed1 (formally KDR) has a good reputation:
Speed1 - Race & Street Performance, Lenhartsville, PA

The new majority owner Darrell at Speed1 has been giving the place a bad rap lately.
Angel Motorsports in fairly new in VA beach and they have been pumping out cars. I'll be dropping my FD off there in the next month.

Thanks. Report back on your experience with Angel.

Still looking for feedback on R/T Tuning if anyone has any experience with them

Took my car to speed1, expecting to have my car tuned right. unfortunalty they warped the seals on the dyno. motor only had 3k on it. Not sure if it was intentional or just accident. but Angel motorsports will get my business for now on. Mike and Chris are awesome. and Pricing is 80% cheaper than Speed1 for motor work.

Sorry to hear that. Who was tuning your car at Spped1, Dave? If so, I doubt that it was intentional.

How did they warp your seals on the Dyno? That sounds rather odd.. Were the seals new with the rebuild, or did you reuse an old pair?

Seals were brand new mazda seals. took 8hrs to "tune" the car. and on the final pull it lost compression on the rear rotor.

GAWD DAMN!!! That's a long tuning session... Like Elio asked, who was doing the tuning? (out of curiosity, what ECU were/are you running?)

Dave tuned it. Was running electromotive tec3r . Car only did 4 hp pulls. The rest of the time was him building the tune.

What made you choose to run an Electromotive ECU?

Were you able to identify what, specifically, caused the seal to warp?

Dave is one of a small handful of people I would trust to work on my car, no questions asked, and he's always done right by me when my car has been under his care. I'm sure you spoke with him about giving him an opportunity to help make things right, what were the results of that? Out of curiosity, who built your engine?

the car came with Tech3, and MA motorsports built the car. unfortunalty im not sure what caused it. the motor is at angel motorsports now getting rebuilt. Plus Speed1 quoted me a outrageous rebuild price. Dave did hook me up on dyno pricing cause it took so long. But it just a big disappointment after driving 3+ hours to have them tune it.

Never heard of angel motorsport. I know Dave at speed1 the man and very honest person with very reasonable price, not high at all.

I will be out soon , once my motor gets rebuild. Next Saturday 21st there is a Meet at Heritage brewery next to ptuning. from 12-4.

Speed1 quoted me 5k for a simple rebuild on my 13b. that crazy high. Angel is less than half.

I picked up another FD. It's a 5-speed '94 SSM on black PEP with about 87K on it. The interior is very nice, exterior is rough but it's nearly 100% original and a two owner car. I got lost of the maintenance history and the original Browns Fairfax dealer invoice from when it was purchased with 6 miles! The body is rough from being a city car but it is worth restoring and the price was excellent!

That being said I will be selling my '93 MB 5- speed car with no spark that I have yet to diagnose. If you know of anyone who would be interested in it as is now please PM me for my cell number. I'm still planning on taking the car to Angel Motorsports to get fixed and will be selling it for more as a runner in the spring.

It's good news!
