I also just picked up an 06 Mazdaspeed 6 Grand Touring 6 speed. Cant wait to take some more adventures in it.
Wait a tick... I know this is late as hell, but are you the guy with the FC living in bldg 1624???

I literally JUST left working at the Dorm Management Office (1657) there on Andrews... I'm over on JBAB now.

Electrical is outside of my comfort zone. Anyone mind a quick diagnosis?

Starter solenoid rapid clicking on key turn, dash and door lights dim and flicker. Assumed battery was dying and CCA dropped. So tried jumping, same issue.

Car sat for two days after a 3 hour trip with a few stop and solid starts, so I doubt the alternator is a factor?

What should I look at now?

It sounds like a battery or cabling issue. Jumping should have worked unless your battery cables are crap.
Are you sure you had a good connection with the jumper cables, or if you used a jump pack was it fully charged?

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking about. An asian dude in 1624 owns that one. If you just got there than I may have been gone when you arrived. Did you check in at 1691, or down at 1657?

The Navy just "recently" (a couple months ago) moved from 1657 up to 1691. I was TDY there so I stayed in 1657 instead of moving with the rest of the Navy types.

Go tell CS2 Roa that I (Scheibel: pronounced "Shy Bull") said what's up!

I think I have seen you around. I was often on the West side; still go there occasionally -- and jbab more rarely.

I spread it out a couple hours over a few days. The worst part was all the bending over. My back will never be the same again. I'm not as young as I used to be

Any rotary meets planned for the MD/DC/VA area between Christmas and New Year? Just got back into an RX8 and meeting up would be fun.

Nah, things are usually quiet around the holidays. Maybe mid Jan or Feb we could do a Karting event though. Depends on who all is interested.

Ah. I took off work the whole time between Christmas and New Year... Not much going on so was thinking a meet would be perfect. Oh well.

You could go to the Katie' cars and coffee if you've got the time on a Saturday. There aren't as many awesome cars in the winter but they still do a decent turnout.

Katie's Cars & Coffee - Great Falls - #1 Cars & Coffee in the DMV

If you post up on here that you are going, you might get some others to come out too.
