Anyone have carbon fiber repair work done around here lately? Have to get one of my interior pieces redone.

I was out of town last weekend helping a family member move, if you wanna go buzz around some backroads this weekend I'll be free on Sunday though. I live in Odenton/Gambrills, so I'm not *too* far from ya...

MD --Buzzzzzzing

Sunday will be best weather day of next 7 days at projected 58 degrees, but I don't know YET if I'll be free, but want to be. Would let you know asap. Just to let you know, I'm an old fart, 66, but I have a pair of socks around your age (32) ! I met Rocky first at Fuddruckers in August and again on the fall road trip; you were going to come in your Miata and have 2 friends tag along. Forgive my muddled brain, but were you there and in which ride ? Bill

Is your FD close to being back on the road?

Not yet. Money is too tight with supporting my wife as she does college full time ($55k/yr doesn't go far in this area!! ) so the FD has taken a back seat on priorities.

I'll be separating from the military at the end of the summer though and will run the FD up to Brian in CT while I'm on terminal leave. I figure about $10k worth of work will put her back on the road happy as a clam. My plan on the work still ahead (excluding dropping the engine back in and reassembling everything in the bay) is to strip/tuck the front body harness, relocate the battery to the trunk, integrate a new dash harness (mine is a mess after letting british folk "fix" it), get the surge tank installed/running, build an engine harness for my Life Racing F88RS, delete the ABS, get a new turbo (I'm thinking EWG EFR8374 or 9174), new DP, etc., etc.

I'm hoping to have it done before Christmas (assuming the work starts in Aug/September) and really expect it to be finished before the spring.

The Miata is still running fine though!!

Hey Bill,

Yeah, Sunday will actually work better for me anyway since I was planning on brewing all day on Saturday.

We missed the fall road trip, I can't remember exactly what was going on but something came up and the wife decided to bail and I think I was obligated to bail as well I'd have to go back to see what actually came up. That sounds about right though!!

Do you do much auto crossing? The local group (Capital Driving Club, CDC) is pretty cool and it's a ton of fun!

Cheers,

Levi

Levi - Autocross ? as I said in last post here - I'm older than dirt - sounds like a young man's thing ! Seriously though, I've never done autocross, but watched some at Baysox Stadium last spring and enjoyed it. When I posted on this thread last friday about going for a drive that Saturday I also posted on Maryland Guys ! thread and later Saturday Windmild posted an invite to me to stop by and get a 6 pack as he was brewing a batch, but I was on the road an didn't see it til late p.m at home. You know him, in Ft. Washington ? WRT Sunday I'm up for it as wife dun said she'll be glad to get rid of me again for awhile. I'll PM my cell to you, call Saturday to make a plan -Bill

'grats! Always great when it starts and runs properly after a major surgery like that. I'm not sure about tomorrow; I'm changing some suspension bushings on the FD today and may not have it back together in time. If the rains holds off I might stop by with something else though but the forecast is looking pretty bad right now.

Had some time to do my wheels this weekend. It was a toss up between black and a bronze color and went with black. Bad day though as pulling in pepboys parking spot, front bumper got cracked up. ~__~

If you do any type of body kit work, the feed side steps (to me) are by far the best bang for buck and easy to install. Just put them on this morning and love them.

I really like the look of those. Do they prevent getting a jack under there or using the pinch rail to jack on?

Also, it looks like I will be ready for the spring cruise

I don't have problems with a jack and actually went lower today. Although it is a low profile jack.

If anyone is coming to the SCCA Majors race next weekend, I'll be there with my EP 2nd Gen #47 multi colored. I have an older International toterhome with a lift gate. Stop by and say hello.

Have you tried polishing it? You may get a couple years before you need a respray
