Just got back from Gothamracing.

Steve needs Damian to call to see if he has a place to stay. Kerry TURBO 3 has to make sure he has software for the Tech 1 so Kan can tune it. Kan can't get the software.

Thanx,

Ken

I already have everything on my own laptop, base map, current map, etc, which will be with me.

You can get all the software on the Electromotive website...can he not find it? I can email it to him if he wants to look at it first, etc.

Steve has been to the site. He apparently can't get it downloaded for whatever reason. You can PM him. He works at Motorola 45 hours a week, works at his shop about 20 hours a week and tunes cars on weekends sometimes. So he's a abusy guy.

I heard Damian say he has a place for Steve to stay. I'll get him to call and confirm.

Okay it looks like we are set:

Saturday:Start at 8:00am, till 8:00PM,
I'll be in TX Saturday to see Kan and pick up my car.
1) Howard with Frank's 2 rotor
2) My Car if Kan can ever gets it done
3) Howard with Frank's 3 rotor
4) Butler's 3 rotor
5) Howard's own car

Sunday)
8:00am
Left overs if any from Saturday at HiTech.
12:01PM
Dyno at DB Performance and tuning.
1) Kerry's 3 rotor(TURBO 3)
2) Tarnowski
3) GooRoo
4) N. Carlson

5)Damian-Street tuning
6)MILLS - looks car needs repair

My concern is can Kan dyno tune 4 cars Sunday afternoon.

He'll have no problem tuning 5 cars on Saturday from 8:00am till 8:00pm if we need the extra time. Kan can street tune Damian's car anytime. It looks like we will not need Sunday AM.

So Damian picks up Kan at airport Friday, puts him up for three nights and he leaves Monday AM.

Thanx,

Ken

i set out yesterday morning for minocqua and minn and 100 miles out picked up a buzz from both my ignition amps. i elected to return home and fix it. i worked til last evening and have made some progress but still have a buzz. i have one more fix to try and if it works will set out for minn if i can get tuned sunday. if not, i have no option but to yank the amps for service.

i sure hope i can make it and will be in touch.

Hope to see you Sunday, parts of Saturday were bad some good, my car has problems
Frank got 414rwhp at 7 psi on 3-rotor. 301 on 2-rotor and ran out of fuel delivery. 3-rotor needs ignition upgrade to go 12psi.

Sunday starts at 11:00am and Kan has a few cars to tune.

Just got back and wanted to say that I appreciate Steve's time with my car even though mine had issues. I for one, amongst probably everybody else there, would like to say thanks.

Agreement

Kerry, agreed!

Sorry I had to bail so soon and didn't get a chance to see your 3-rotor in action. I had such a great time today too! Thanks go out to Steve and everybody else who made it happen!

I think I won the dubious award for loudest car according to Kan.

Here are some dyno charts. We were expecting about 430rwhp at 15 psi on pump gas(92 octane) and only got 384. I was having ignition problems and it was not holding boost. I did put in 110 octane and we were hoping for 510 rwhp at 22psi. We only got 423 at 18psi and it was breaking up even more. When you look at the graphs 100mph is about 6k rpms. I had very small 205-40-16 Nitto drag radials on the car.

Needless to say I'm very disappointed.

I will not go into the other car problems.

I hear that Steve actually does maybe 5 hours of work at the shop a week, most if it being surfing the forums. I think Alex, the other owner and the mechanics deserve some credit as well. Nice dyno curve Ken, but I don't understand why all of the cars Steve tunes always need ignition upgrades. I have made 470 @20 pis+ to the wheels on completely stock ignition save for some race plugs and a new leading coil with no break up. This was on C16. People can say what they want about KDR's tuning, but my car ran perfect for over a year like that.

I think Kan builds motors and tunes cars. He's very good at what he does. But I doubt he does very much on your car. The peole he hires does most of that and sometimes they are not up to his standards. I picked my car and wanted my replacement parts back. I replaced a Centerforce clutch with about 5k miles on it. It was only good for 400hp and I was expecting to get much more than that so I upgraded to a Spec 3 clutch good for 500+rwhp.

Well when I went to pick up the the clutch all they had was the disc, the pressure plate was scrapped. I asked were that guy was to make sure he really tossed it. He was no longer working there.

So good shops can hire incompetent people.

Ken
