Steve Kan Tuning in Minnesota??

At the last RX-7 event I attended there seemed to be some interest to get Steve up here to tune some cars. I'll be going to TX in the next few weeks to pick up my other FD. I have worked with Steve a lot. I'd like to know if there is enough serious interest to get him up here this year. I think we can use my brother's 4800sq ft shop in Blaine as a base. He has two hoists and lots of tools.

So the last time I talked with Steve he needs at last 5 pre-paid cars to tune and the cost is $350. He covers all his expenses.

So let me know. You can e-mail me at luv94rx7@aol.com or via the forum. I'm not on the http://www.northstarrotaries.com/forum/. They kicked me out.

Thanx,

Ken

$350 is a flat rate? Doesn't matter if the car barely runs or runs pretty good but looking for a little sharper tune?

You have to have an aftermarket programmable ecu, He can tune RX-7s and others with them.

LUPE went from 300+ whp to 603 with Kans tuining and now is selling the car trying to sell the beast for $28+k.

Kan is tuning my white FD for 500 whp in the next few weeks. I could get 600whp if I wanted to invest in a larger diameter exhaust, bigger injectors and another fuel pump, I wish I could afford it but can't, I'retired. That's why I'll have to sell my black one. Can't affors two of these great cars. If I could I would.

Thanx,

Ken

The northstar forum did not kick you out, you left on your own terms and we are always more than happy for your return or at least myself and most of the members I'm familiar with.

Anyhow, I am potentially interested in him tuning my 20B FC depending upon the timing. What weekend is the planned event? Mine will not be available for a month or thereabouts, not until after MRR at least.

Kan is booked thru the summer. I guess I was wrong he needs $100 down and the rest at tuing time. He can tune rx-7s with aftermarket ecus.

If you want me in the local forum it will have to me reinstate me for free, It looks dead to me.

Thanx,

Ken

I would consider this if I get my truck done by then...only have a few things left, but I need time.

Are we looking at this fall or next summer??

From the look at your profile your truck is a B2200 Mazda, unless it has an aftermaret ECU which I do not know of any then Steve can NOT help you.

If you do have a programable ECU I'm sure Kan can work wonders with it.

Ken

I'm sure you are pleased with your Atkins person. My brother had an FD and went thru 2 Atikins motors, they were flawed.

Kan flys all over the country 1 or 2 times a month tuning our beloved RX-7s. On LUPE's car he went from 300+rwhp to 603.

His deal is he's very talented tuner and he is a wonderful human being. If you ever have the chance to meet Steve in person you will agree with me.

Hopefully in the next month I will get my FD back from Steve's shop and will have 500+rwhp.

Hopefully this will help.

Thanx,

Ken

Depending on date and time I may know 3-4 people (Damian/Sam/Ben and I) who are interested.

Ken, you'll have to talk with Damien, I don't have admin rights although it's pretty lacking over there indeed.

Late Sept or early Oct would work the best for me.

I'm interested if I can find a shop that will install a DP & MP.

I also need recommendations for a quality DP & MP.

Ken,Assuming he comes up after Aug. 21, I have a 1993 2 rotor and a 1995 3 rotor and I'll pay for 2 slots for the both of them. My long-time friend and racing partner is Howard Coleman, who is a good friend of Steve's and said I should miss this opportunity. I leave for a week of motorcycling tomorrow (Blue Ridge Mtns.) and return 8/13. I have to be gone to Nashville 8/17 to 8/20 to take my daughter to college and will available after that.Sincerely,

Okay time to get serious, here's a fellow that has two FD to have tuned. Do we have three others committed to this project of getting Kan up here????

Thanx,

Ken
