Calgary ~ Planning a meet thread
Like I said, there are good running RX's in town, Max's included, but they don't hang around here. Might want to visit where they do hang out and make a notice.
There should be no excuse for non running or poorly running rotary's in Calgary, we have a "Specialties" shop don't we

obviously your one of the rare breed of rx-7 owners who has'nt been fucked around by that piece of **** shop..... or maybe you happen to own that piece of **** shop. if thats the case then maybe you should come down to the meet. I'd love to talk to you....

Most reliable and trouble free car I've ever had.All she asks is to be taken to the track or autocrossing every couple of weeks during the summer and be flogged hard!

FB was the most reliable 7 I owned.
FC was the least reliable.
FD was the one that came around and bit me in the ***. Would start and drive every day, but it ran like ****. One day I sold it when it was running good and the other guy never had a problem. It was always 100% for him.
As for the specialties shop. PERSONALLY, I've had more trouble at a mazda dealership with work and repairs, and especially money, than I've had at the specialties shop. But thats my personal experience.

I just found it funny that for a guy who has not posted on this forum in many months, people talk like they know him, even to go as far as refering to the condition of his lawn etc.In addition I'm not sure there's a car in town that hasnt been fucked by RX-7 Specialties, I'm no exception, got lucky and learnt my lesson early though. It's a really shame but whatever.
On a side note, your car could really be a stunning machine, just needs some TLC in the body fitment department, and sounds like Max is working on the tuning issues. Great wheels though, right size, gives the car an awsome stance.

thats cool. it's just a touchy subject for me because i wasn't so lucky. Max is gonna make brakets to fit the new mazdaspeed carbon bumper so i'll probobly run that shitty fiberglass bumper over with my jeep. it never fit very good. im going down there tomorrow. you should stop by. i heard he has a box of roofing nails for sale, pretty cheap price too. ask him about it...

I'd enjoy a drive down there, but I have to work tomorrow so..... That bumper's nice by the way, hopefully the fitment will be better than the other one, I assume you plan on painting the carbon fibre though?

it was a joke. obviously we're not just gonna show up at Max's without an invite. if my car is still in his shop, i'm gonna head over there. hopefully it'll be done and running.
It actually sounded pretty good when I was there last weekend, idling issues at that time notwithstanding. Apparently it was way worse when it first arrived there. Max is meticulous and doesn't settle for anything short of perfection. You're in good hands.

Too bad max is too busy to serve the whole RX-7 community. But I'll give him one thing though. He's completely honest. At least in my experience. Definetly the go too guy for all your tuning needs.
Wow, I actually read a Calgary meet post before it happens! I should check in more often. I'm stuck in Iqaluit of all places until the 23rd so there's a good chance I'll be able to show for this one. Last one I was able to make was Sunridge Mall...

I would start reading up on your car and it's parts and start narrowing down what the issue is. Might even have to go down to the harness/sensor/ECU (F.Con) level rather than just components.

Man, been out of the loop awhile?
My bad, I guess we dont post everything we talk about personally on the forum. Its not like the ol' days be for telephones and Messengers.

Just an update, I got my new transmission in and it seems to work good, so I am back in for the meet. My FC3s has engine wise never et me down and neither did my old 83 fb, that thing would start in minus 30 weather it was great, I think you just have to bag on the rx7 to keep them running, it seems to work for me. And one other thing I think the Idea of starting an actual club is a great idea, it would make it easier to arrange things like an RX track day.
