i think it would look weird not turns or molding. how about 93spec front turns molded in?

 

Don't really like the look with the turns removed. I have a nice LED setup for the turns anyway so I'm not gonna change that.

Lines gone over again, after these pics were taken this morning they primered the body again for the last time. We're on track for paint on Friday.

I've also ordered a different color white LED spotlight to try out in the FTPs.

What do you mean? The end of the tail lights sit flush with the fenders. The fenders aren't stupid wide in the tail light area like the RE-Amemiya kits.

Honestly I could not HATE the turns more, the side markers the turns, all that bullshit, if you ever sit down and talk to OLD school japanese and even american designers all that **** is just to meet code when it at that time IS code, look at every lambo, ferrari, benz, bmw or any car worth more than the 3grand our cars are now and you will see mostly integrated turns/tail turns, signals headlights, some like the maybach and others even the head/turn/spots/driving are ALL in the same assembly, others like the audi and other supercars have rows of spots inside/justbelow the heads that function as turns and such, those old jacked up square holes that mazda made for the turns are the WORST thing on the front of the car by alot, the FTP's and the drivings are shaped and beautiful, then someone said after the fact hey cut a square hole, gotta have turns. bullshit I tell you.

Also if you look at every single aftermarket bumper almost worth two cents that is suspiciously missing.

just my 2 cents, I think if you removed them and put your turns inside your ftps you would be quite surprised at how clean the front looked, again as I said not to try to get you to hold the car up any longer, just hate to see you have the chance to make it so clean now that the side markers are gone and not take the opportunity.

as i said beafor removing the turns compelettely would be abig mistake thrust. it would look too clean to the point of plain like 98 dodge caravan bumper. not the Series 6 turns where nicerly shaped i think those would lood good molded in there. i'll PS a pic in just alittle while

 

I fail to see how MORE **** makes it look good but then again Rice is one mans treasure, not mine. Look through history and you will notice one thing in common about the cars that are worth the most money, almost all of them are either monochromatic and less is more OR they are beyond the point of retardation to make some kind of point and in that case if you were showing me a Carbon Fiber complete bumper with 27 holes in it and they SERVED A PURPOSE I would be in, in this case he has a chance to make his ftps do better than any stockers ever did AND function as turns and make the front cleaner than it could be with any aftermarket bumper and not to mention make something in the front of the car unique to match the rest of the car, and juice don't chime in with that I put an extra hole for the FMIC **** here, because every ricer known to man has that hole in their front bumper, yes yes yes I commend you making it look stock and sick at the same time albeit, but still.

But hey, classy is not the look for everyone I admit, ricey is WELL liked by alot of people, not to infer that juices car is ricey but with all this work I would just like to see if it HAS to be black and ****, be nice and shaved and very sleek and slick all around, its so close to it already. The sides are sans marker lights, the back meets up with the nice tails already ( plans for 4" led in the tails juice ? ) and so on, I just want perfection here, I think I deserve it after this long, **** dont you ?

Yeah, some people hack up their bumpers and add an extra hole. But they don't all delete the moldings and make the extra hole & trimmed out grill work look stock. I do not feel that adding one orange high intensity LED spotlight to each FTP would be sufficient for a turn signal, maybe an LED floodlight would be better. Without further testing to find out I will not be making any changes to the turn signals. I think I'd rather have 4 white LED Spotlights in there for the FTP function anyway. I do also have an idea for the FTPs to add an orange led strip near the bottom of the lense to use as turns in combination with the regular(now LED) turns(similar to the new Audii cars). But before I do ANY delting of anything such as a turn signal I would need to know for sure that what I was to replace them with is sufficient. When I do test these things out after the car is done if I feel the need to delete the turns it won't be that big of a deal to change that part of the bumper. Chances are unlikely that I will do that that though. I don't really want to delete functionality, I'd rather add to it.

I do have some ready and waiting to go. Haven't had time to finish them though. May try something different too.

Will do! I haven't had a chance to try to fit the new seats yet. As soon as the car is out of the body shop the new carpeting and seats will be fitted and I'll let you know.

The "adding" fucntionality is what I am after actually, making your ftp's bright AND be turns would be sick, admit it , it would be a one off and nothing else would look like it and to be honest if you really REALLY wanted it to be one off you could just straight drill a row of amber high intensity flat led's right under the ftps, shave the stock fuckhole square crap, and leave your 4 superbrights in the ftp's and get the best of both worlds.

Also what is the idea for the rears, I have had my tails apart for 3 months now trying to figure out what I want to do with them, stupid truck 4" led lights don't look as good, I really WANT a round 2 circle "Halo" tail led type inside the tail but I dont know without building a custom round board and led's how to go about such an animal, unless you just "turn off / desolder" a bunch of the leds in the inner circle, dunno, thoughts ?

 

And dont EVEN bother telling me that the R8 doesnt have THE SICKEST ******* headlight/turn/ftp/drivelight front end combo light EVER, because it does.

someone else used did that, he just used (i think it was) liquid electrical tape to cover the center leds to make the halo effect.



I dont quite like the look, i think its missing something. Its still a really nice picture though, i got it as my desktop right now.

The R8 headlight setup is cool... But the front end of the FC is nothing like that. Drilling holes for LEDs under the FTPs to try to mimic the R8 headlights will come out looking pretty crappy I think. The angles are totally different. If anything the extra LEDs i put in will be inside the FTP lens.

Damn, you beat me to it. Yup, liquid electrical tape. Some of those 4 inch truck lights cannot have the LEDs in the center be disabled without breaking the whole thing. So covering the LEDs with the liquid electrical tape is about the best you can do if that's the look your going for.




I saw the car earlier today. It's been reprimered. They were starting the prep for paint.

3/4's view man... can't see jack other than the fact the lip/tire is quite flush.

 

If I can, next week after paint I'll bring the tires back to the shop and throw them on. I'll grab some pics for you. I'm pretty sure I posted some youtube video of the wheels mocked up before.

yeah, like i said, its missing something... i cant put my finger on it but it just doesnt have the right look. maybe the leds are to far apart? or maybe it is the halo being to big.
