This is awesome! Hope you don't mind if I steal the expansion tank idea for my own build Care to share anymore info on the cooling setup? I may have missed it in the thread, but is there a reason why you didn't go with the original EWP mount?

I will make a write up on the cooling system when I get it working 100% right now it is cooling the motor too well. The reason for not using the origional mount was clearance between the inlet of the pump and the radiator. If I was to make it again I would use a shorter radiator. Although, with it mounted up high you can see the wiggins clamps easier

BTW, you wont be the first to copy my surge tank location, but it will fit between the rear subframe and the fuel tank if you don't want people to see it.

Half of my gauges dont work! Have to keep the car always full because when it's full it's at half and when it drops low it stays at 1/4. Odometer doesn't function at all, then the stock oil and coolant gauges aren't very useful IMO. Hell for the sales pitch you're giving this racepak I might have to take the dive. Few hundred to re calibrate some paper and needles, or an extremely useful tv screen

^ What ECU do you have?

I really think the digital dash (whichever brand you choose) is a great option, It replaces over 30 gauges, you can display any parameter that you have a sensor for.

I have the power fc. looking into other ecu's that can store multiple maps. Why, what's it compatible with? Does it show odo mileage too?

^Thanks

Pretty soon I will start playing with E-85. I figure I should start tuning the car on ethanol first then go back to 93 after the e-85 is tuned. This is so I can tune the fuel map to the max boost I plan to run (bout 30psi) then use the ethanol compensation maps to correct for 93. This way the base map is tuned for my max boost. If I go the other way I end up in uncharted territory as I will be running signifigantly more boost with ethanol.

I started filling up with E-85, around by me the max I have seen so far on the gauge has been 73% ethanol. Car is running off of the wastegate spring at 10lbs of boost. I am working on the drivability and the low boost load points now to make the car run more like stock. I also need to find a place where I can rent a dyno to use for a few hours so I can tune the car.

Can you get e98 around you? If you can get that and Mitch 91 in to get true 85. You figure out that other issue were telling me about.

I have to get E-98 from drums as no one sells it around here at the pump. The plan is to increase the ethanol to E-85 and tune there and then work my way down all the way to E-10.

The issue was the "sense" wire to the alternator had too much resistance and was causing the alternator to overcharge the battery at 16 volts. Now the alternator is outputting 14.2 volts.

Heard Shawns car made no more power with E98 over E85. And a heard of a couple failures on E98 with the same symptoms (weird Build up in Apex seal grooves causing them to stick). Not enough info to determine the cause for sure but the Big finger points to the E98.

I would use the E-98 to dilute the e-73 that I am getting now in order to make sure my tune is safe if I end up filling at a station that has a higher ethanol content than e-73. I am thinking that since it is September that maybe the mixing stations are not selling E-85 because it does not work as well in the winter. Basically switching to the "winter" blend. I do not plan to run E-98 in the car because that would defeat of using a fuel that I can run at the pump.

Shawns car was also an unknown mazda reman with stock ports. Maybe with a different setup he would have made more power. I think I will max out my turbo before hitting the limits of E-85.

I am having boost control issues so the plot is not smooth. Once I fix that ill go back on the dyno and raise to boost to probably 30lbs. This run was at 20.5 lbs with E-67 in the fuel tank.
