It's been a while since I've thrown an update on here...I managed to paint the callipers and buy some new lugs (SR48), as well as switch everything over to SS lines on the oil cooler setup, I didn't fair so well with the push lock approach....I also built ducting for the vmount setup to boot.

Next week Ill have some finalized pictures of everything. Just need to get water injection in, and at that point I dont plan on popping the hood again for a while...at least until I spend a little money on the exterior...throw some dyno action in there somewhere.

Wow that ducting looks top notch. What was the issue with the push-loc hose? That is the route I was considering over braided SS (socketless hose)

On a completely warm motor and easy driving around town I had one of these lines unlock itself...I personally lost all confidence at that point, If I had been pushing the car or doing a pull somewhere I probably wouldn't have a motor either. Every line is SS now

I'm not going to sit here and say that anyone who is running this style of line will experience the same problems, I always seem to get lucky with **** like that going wrong....it was a minor heart attack for the car.

:/ My vacuum lines are all push-lock, I think I may end up going with stainless for the wastegates/boost controller though.

Vac lines aren't too bad...Unless of course it was the one controlling boost, which then I hope the correct fail safes are inline with the tune. Oil lines on the other hand I prefer the extra assurance of the SS lines at this point that's for sure!

Many times I stood there and looked at the engine bay trying to decide if I wanted to take on the project of running hardlines everywhere and getting rid of the silicone lines...one of these days.

Do you have a build thread floating around here anywhere?

I have a question concerning the motor mounts....I bought a set of Delrin mounts that I need to install...I have the 14mm nuts off of the mounts...I have the rear of the subframe unbolted to give me a little more play as well, and a jack under the tranny so I can lift it all up.

My goal here is to just change the mounts and avoid anything that involves the oil pan...upon getting under the car I saw that it already has the steel engine mount bracket...so at this point I'm trying to get the motor mount themselves out but it isn't going as smooth as it looks....

Is it possible to just remove the mounts, or will I have to unbolt the whole arm from the motor to change these out...and I'm assuming if I had to go that route, that I'd need to reseal the oil pan as well.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated

I used this for some guidance but there approach includes removing the oil pan for their project.

It'll be easier if you pull the arms off.. theres only 2 bolts holding on each mount.. Otherwise i'm sure you'll probly need to un bolt the tranny to give yourself some extra lift.

Yea looks like 3 17mm bolts per side and I can pull the arms off the motor and slide em right out...my only concern is will have to reseal the oil pan? It looks like there's some 10mm bolts already back there supporting the pan and keeping it snug if I were to remove the bigger 17mm bolts...

Is this the case?

3/8 drive ratchet with shallow 17 mm socket, jack the engine up using the trans until it will go no higher. You can easily get to the 6 17mm headed bolts in less than 10 minutes. No need to touch anything else. Extremely simple job.

Yea it literally took 10min to swap em over...I could've popped those 17mm off earlier but I had to double check the whole oil pan shabang...thanks for the help

It has been quite a while since I've put an update on here, I've put more focus on the exterior now, before I get too gung ho with making power. I did a lot of subtle changes, maybe some will notice some won't It is wingless now, which is the most obvious, I decided I wanted to go with the Shine Low Profile spoiler and the feed style side skirts, can't wait for those to arrive!

I see tinted front signals and side markers/signals, perhaps a black r1 front spoiler, maybe the black painted calipers with silver "mazda" script?

any numbers yet?

Same lip just scuffed it...painted the whole car as well, shaved the rear wiper, antenna and the spoiler holes...you have a good eye sir!

I'm trying to decide on what I wanna do with the emblems

couldn't tell if you painted it or not, it looked cleaner and just figured you gave it a good wax job. I love a fresh coat of MB.
as far as the emblems, go to mazda and by the new rx8 and cx7 logos and mash them together.

Had a big ol ShineAuto box at my front door today Glad I can cross another thing off the long never ending list that plagues my wallet.

Ill have some pics up soon. Getting some dyno numbers is the next thing on the list.

Got the spoiler and the side steps on today....I am very pleased with ShineAuto and their customer service. Everything fit how it should. At this point next on the list is a trunk mount water injection setup and then Ill head to the dyno and see what the 6265 has to say.

Here are a few pics, hopefully Ill have some purty rolling shots soon.

Very clean!
I've always say stock body Fd's are the best looking.
