The 5th would just be nice to have as an overdrive for long distances on interstate

Dave, where did you get those mounts for the reservoir? I'm looking for exactly the same thing!

BTW do you fill the tank from the cabin, or through the hatch? Careful with spillage

Any chance you're bringing here over to Atlanta Saturday for the 4-rotor fest at Mazmart?

Couple shots of the interior after being detailed, showing the placement of the water/meth tank. Now we just need to build a lexan firewall between the surgetank/trunk area and the seats. Meth tank will be fine as only running water and/or really low meth content.

The immediate things are: swap the turbine hotside, stiffer wastegate springs, and install the meth nozzle, and install the sequential shifter. Then we get on the dyno and retune!

Might have to hold off on these items if I decide to make it to the 4 rotor meet at Mazmart.

Water injection completed,

Now onto fixing the wastegate flutter sound that annoys me.

Wonder if I can wire an HKS Stepper Motor valve into the DPO from haltech and control it Why is it that no one makes a stepper motor besides HKS for boost control. It just makes too much sense.

yea its just sound coming through the wastegate dump tubes, sort of like a flutter. It's because of the hood dump and massive gates, so you can hear the actual frequency of the boost control signal going to the gates and oscillating the plunger. Either that, or there is a turbulence between the two 50mm ports since they are on the same up-pipe. I'm going to try removing the controller and running spring pressure with 12psi springs to see if it eliminates the flutter sound. This is an extremely common issue on subaru and evo's for some reason too. When they upgrade to 3 port boost controllers they get flutter on open dump tubes. I just want loud and clean lol. It may also be that the gates are so efficient now in their new prioritized position, that they aren't really opening much, but sort of floating between open/closed. I may try deleting a gate by running boost to top hat of one gate only to keep it shut while using the other gate on spring pressure to see if it changes behavior. Either way, it's only sound, function is great. Its so wild that it favors trailing off boost and wants more duty cycle where as on the last manifold it would snap to 15+ psi uncontrollably. Priority / placement makes a ridiculous difference.

Swapped to 1.32AR housing from the 1.58, and installed 12psi springs. Running direct mechanical pressure of compressor outlet to lower wastegate ports, top port vented, no boost controller.

Car lights up the tires 12.5-13.1psi peak in 4th gear at 4k rpms, hit full boost with as little at 50% throttle now. Boost holds around 12psi to 6500rpm, then gradually tapers across 6500-8500rpm down to around 8.5-9psi. So we have about a 3psi taper, which is around a 25-30% taper. I'm assuming this is exhaust back pressure opening the gates and/or the engine VE increase at high rpm taking in more CFM. The greatest news of all of this is NO FLUTTER SOUND. Its sounds absolutely amazing clear F1 + boost + open wastegate sound. Its just nuts. You should see the cars around us on the interstate. They literally all have heart attacks and slam on the brakes. I feel like such an a**hole, its amazing.

So now, to figure out how to hook up a boost controller so that we can offset the taper by closing up the gates at higher rpm. Going to try the 3-port, without interrupting the lower port line. I assume around 70% peak duty and the bottom of the taper should bring that 9psi up to 15-16psi where we want it. However, if I get that frequency pulse sound through the hood tubes, going to buy the HKS EVC6 which is a stepper motor. Stepper won't have a frequency operation in duty cycles, but instead will function exactly as a manual bleed valve that has electronic adjust ability. I'm still not sure why there is not an aftermarket stepper device thats universal and can be wired into the ECU.....anyway, going to wire in the 3 port, try it to see if we can get good power/clean curve, then swap to the HKS if that causes unfavorable sound. Still need to turn on the methanol.

Oil pressure, water, oil temp, battery voltage (holding 16.5 in boost!), fuel pressure (holding 1:1), all looks f*cking dope.

The only issue i'm having right now is randomly I went to grab third, and trans stayed in 2nd, and then locked my shifter into neutral. Had to drop pan and push the slider to reset it. Not sure why this occurred. I talked to the gear company he says we should get stronger detent springs for the shift rods. I can't decide if maybe it was my fault or the trans fault, either trying to find custom spring manufacture to make some tiny springs at higher rate just to be safe.

That is a bad sign as far as being able to use the Ikeya Formula shifter as their instructions include weakening the shift fork shaft detent springs by shimming them with included washers.
