The fastest ive been is 215MPH, that was in a Supra with JUN build motor pushing 1000HP and 1050Lb torque. Wasent behind the wheel but it felt pretty smooth.

Yeah that speed is pretty insane. He wants to change the rear end ratio and take it out again to see if he can hit over 220MPH!!!
Has anyone seen that vid of the Rx-7 attempting a high speed run in the desert? It hits like 220MPH and takes off the ground, flys for a bit then lands upside down.....scary stuff.

220mph?! He better make sure he has some SERIOUS downforce and aero to attempt that, even professionally built cars with millions of dollars of research and development put into them and windtunnel testing can flip at high speeds. He should be happy with the 200mph mark and just leave it alone! The car you're referring to was built by racingbeat, one of the all time greatest Mazda tuners and even they couldn't keep the car on all 4 wheels. Luckily it landed on it's top and just slid to a nice stop, if the car would have rolled, the consequences would have been much, much worse! The year after that crash they rebuilt the car and painted it black (back in black) with serious aero/downforce. With the improved aero they were able to hit 242mph which just so happens to be 1mph faster than the fastest street legal car ever made, the McLaren F1.

Is that beautiful or what?!

hit 170 with a passenger in the car, it was about 8:30 in mourning and no cars were on 81 south, it was pretty cold so it pulled all the way up, i didnt have the ***** to go any faster at that point (baby steps). The car felt pretty stable, and the ride was extremely smooth. I think i could have hit 180+ if i kept going. Luckily after i got down to about 80 mph i see a cop on the side with radar. Man i was glad i decided to slow up at 170.

Hey fitz,

Q: How do you know when a fighter pilot is at your party?

A: He'll tell you.

i used to take people for rides to 160 mph on a regular basis. wasnt really scary, even at night. didnt take long either. then a little over a year ago in may, i ran from the cops and hit 172. the cop car topped out at 130...i would have gone faster but i wanted to turn on a particular back road...i stayed calm and was in and out of traffic....the scariest part was the cops chasing me. got away from the cop chasing me, but decided to stop for the next one. was arrested and got a ticket for 130 mph (paced by the original cop that i left in the dust) also got avading arrest charge, sense then only 155mph, for me.

not to encourage runnin from the cops lol... but yea ive done that a bunch of times in the past...cuz i knew the residential areas and back streets like the back of my hand...always works

as for tryin 2 str8 up outrun the po-po... ive never done it in my FD for one reason...i figure there are only a handful of FDs in the area, and if the cops got a good look at my car (or my vanity tags, or my GIGANTIC HKS exhaust lol) or any number of things that make FDs stand out like a sore thumb among other cars, maybe they can pull u over later on...if not the same nite, but any time later they spot u?

that possible? or am i just bein paranoid?? (i can soo imagine it... "warrant out on a black rx7 for evading the cops, excessive speed, reckless endangerment, etc..."

I carry a GPS when on long trips. It has a "trip memory" (Garmin GPS III+). It stores top speed automatically. It had 1000 km/hr recorded in it for awhile. Oh, all right, the truth. I had it in a JAL 777 aircraft in the far east. Kind of cool though, 1000 km/hr at 12 km altitude.

Just took my 80 yr. old dad to 170 km/hr. Not that fast, but my imagination is too good. If -anything- goes wrong at these speeds, with just an airbag and 3 point belts, they'll be using a spoon to recover your remains!

ive heard that after 24 hrs they cant do anything. because, they dont know who was driving the car at the time. plus rx7's are so much faster then cops so dont let them see your plates and they cant do ****

135 MPH. Was worried I'd blow my motor with stock intercooler if I went faster.
