Hi Guys,
I have done 268Km 166MPH in fourth gear with plenty of pull in mine with an oil leak car was steady as hell. I am sure if I had the ***** to wack it into 5th I would have got over 300km.

When I drove my car home, I went around 220km/h on the highway and the car felt still very strong when giving it more gas. I have 130k on original engine and turbos. On a bike, my fastest was 280km/h (but boy, did that pump up my adrenaline)!

120-130mph, w/3 psi on a stock FD as far as power mods go. After I'm done tinkering, I will see how the car does...

I have a Motor Trend from back in either 94 or 95 where they tested the fastest sub 50k cars. I believe that the R2 that they tested topped out at about 160 or so.

That would be me. I hit 173 in mine. My mods at the time were a EFI cpu, cold air intake, and the Racing Beat exhaust that I still have.
I topped out uphill at 150, but when I hit the top of the hill, I pulled all the way to 173. It was still pulling when I left off. Very scary. I wasn't scared until exactly that speed. Pretty wierd. I'm comfortable to about 150(in a staight line of course).
I've heard about the supposed top speed limiter as well, but I didn't encounter it. I would even go so far as to say that with more power, the 7 will do faster than the speedo says.

Like Tim, I see the top of 4th A LOT which is 140. The most I've been up to was around 155ish. I just remember letting off the gas then glancing down as it was around 153ish. I prob let off between 155-160.

I had intake, dp, cb

Hmm....JDM FDs have a 180 km speedometer. 4th tops out at 140 mph (225 km/h), or even less with a 4.3 rear end. BS.

I have hit 155 in my FD w/downpipe and cat-back. I pop it up to 120-130 all the time. 4th gear is fun...

I posted in this thread earlier (page 3, last year)....

I've got a roll bar now...and a shorter 5th gear to give me more pulling power in 5th. I'm thinking of doing a 180 mph run and getting it on video this summer

I've got some video somewhere, not sure where it is right now.
Maybe, I'll dig through all my digital 8 tapes and put it on my new site.

I have video of a few 0-150 blasts from inside and outside the car. I've been bugging the kid for a while to see the video.
I'll see if I can get my hands on it.

Where is the camera mounted on the car when you are filming these speed runs?

I've taken mine up to 165mph on the dial quite a few times (I regularly do 150+) and I've filmed a few of the runs with the camera on a suction mount on the windscreen. The problem with that is that you really don't get any sensation of speed - I've even tried that speed through tunnels but it doesn't help.

Where do you think I should mount the camera for the best feeling of speed? I was thinking of using the suction to mount it on the outside of the car, low-down somewhere - I'm a tiny bit worried about how much drag it will cause at high-speed though, and whether it'll screw my aerodynamics or maybe just snap clean off.

I'm on stock wheels/tyre size, but on a ported motor with free-flowing exhaust, so 165 on the dial isn't hard to get - though with an normal speedo over-read of 10% thats probably only about 150mph. I need to get my GPS to start measuring my speed as that will be a lot more accurate and will log too, saving me having to take my eyes off the road which I really don't like doing when I'm going those sorts of speeds.

I had someone in the car with me filming. I honestly haven't seen the film, but I know that sometimes speed doesn't transfer well. Just watch Getaway in Stockholm. You have to really watch, to actually see how fast he's going.
I'm really anxious to see the shots from outside the car, as i'm willing to bet that they convey the speed alot better. He sat on a hill, off the side of the road, about a mile down from where I started. I then drove towards him, and on past.

i was racing an accord lol on the intersate one night and at about 140 and thought I saw lights behind me coming on the on ramp so I just stuck it in 5th and pulled to 180+ probably around 186 the speedo ran out so i'm just guessing, car was really stable at speed but it's been lowered and tweeked, It was also a cold night and was boosting near 15psi, only been able to get around 170 since summer has come around though. Damn texas heat lol

Comming back from a pizza buffet around midnight with my buddy who brought along his radar detector from his 1996 MX6 we opened her up on 435 East going well over 135 passing my friends in their Saturn and Geo Storm ha ha they probably shat themselves. I am thinking about takin her out again to run on 69 highway that is never patroled and pretty empty sometimes.
