Oil in intake tubes
Hey guys, I notice I find a little bit of oil in my intake tubes and also my stock BOV seems to shoot out quite a bit of oil also...
I even put a small filter on the end of it but that doesnt really seem to hold it in... Isnt that a sign that my turbos are going out on me, I would think they would have by now, my stock twins have just over 100k miles and I have been running 14psi for the last year... Anyone know whats up with that, I know a lil oil is normal and everything & this doesnt seem to abnormal im just curious...

Had the same issue.
First, oil in the intake, then oil
out the charge relief valve, then oil
smoke out the exhaust at idle.
always had good boost though.
I almost replaced the engine, but
instead replaced the twins with a low
mileage set and the smoke and oily
intake are history.
Wait until the smoky idle gets
embarrasing

Thats your crank case vent. Its a line that goes from the oil filler neck to the primary intake pipe so vent crank case gases back into the intake.
Its not uncommon for some oil to get in the line, especially when making a super hard turn. This is why a lot of road racers run a catch can on it

It's so bad on my car that it creeps past the intake manifold gasket. But since it only smokes for about 1 minute at startup, they keep going.

Yea it had me worried before becuz Ive only got about 6k miles on a pettit streetported engine and I noticed occasionally I would get an oil related smoke from my exhaust while idling for periods of time, it would puff out some smoke for a minute then stop if say I was sitting at a long red light, Everyone said my oils seals were going and I hoped not but then when I saw the oil all the way up in the throttle body I figured that must be causing my smokey exhaust... (knocks on wood)
