Regarding RotorSports Racing.....I believe they have new Mazda crate motors (kegs), Call them if you need one.

No refund or engine. no more info. no more communication from Paul. He told me he would call me back the following week, that was a couple of weeks ago. I think this is where they are at on this, nowhere

He did, I think he sold it/them. I heard he's now in the same engine backorder with no eta date as everyone else. Speaking of which, I'll add one more vote for Bryan and Rotorsports in NC. He rebuilt my engine mostly from good parts I had on hand from another used engine and did various other things I wasn't familiar with at the time (2017) and tuned my FD. Couple minor issues when I got it back, no big deal, then I made a number of changes and he retuned it. I made more changes, then he retuned and dyno tuned a 3rd time. Motor has good compression and has never missed a beat. Here's the kicker (and a lesson for IRP/elite/vargas/addicted/rpm, et al) In the 3 or 4 times he worked on my car he NEVER had it for more than 6 weeks. Each time it was delivered sooner than promised. True story.

Another very good reason to do your own VETTING before taking your FD to any shop/mechanic. These days most are bad but there are a few good ones like RotorSports (NC) and FDAutomotive (FLA).

Still nothing from IRP

After being told they are working on refunds there has been no communication. It doesn’t take 2 months to get a refund from a dealer on a product they can not supply.

If $$$ is spent for other projects it becomes an issue.

Sounds like a Ponzi scheme where the people waiting for product have their $$ spent to pay suppliers of prior customers.

Unfortunate, as I was planning on going with an IRP single turbo kit, but will definitely not. If I was local, and the items were in stock that would be the only situation where it might be considered.

I've just stumbled onto this thread and can't believe how widespread these issues with IRP are.
I've currently been waiting for the REW that I placed an order for in March of 2021... Thats coming up on two years since I've forked over thousands of dollars.
On top of that, I placed an order with them in July of 2021 for an Xcessive LIM and a few other small odds and ends which has still also not been received.
I've tried so hard to be patient and understanding with their lack of communication and delays but enough is enough, I just want the products that I paid for. @IRPerformance

Wow. I can't believe this thread is still going on. I hope IRP is getting caught up on everything.

they (supposedly) have something I want to order, but obviously I’m hesitant to do so.

the Xcessive LIM has been sold out/on backorder for well over a year from Xcessive. So you can’t really blame IRP for it other than if they charged your CC in advance of being able to supply it. Sounds like they may have based on what was stated about the engine.

Correct, I was also charged in full for the LIM at the time of placing the order. It was labeled with a 4–6-week lead time and I only found out about Xcessive's foundry change and the actual scale of the delay after a few months and multiple failed attempts at communication with IRP. Such a shame, being in the northeast I was initially excited to be located so close to what I had thought was a great shop. I've been waiting on this REW swap for so long, hopefully one of these days I'll be able to actually start it.

I would suggest dropping the passive approach.

if enough of you can get together and petition their local DA it might help get the ball rolling

you don’t have any local news channels up there that like to address this sort of fraud with an expose feature broadcast?

why is their vendor area here; as inactive as it may be, still not scrubbed from view yet? You all should be asking IB Robb about this.

and so on …

well I just ordered IGN-1A kit from them a couple days ago. i did message them and asked for lead time before ordering and the response was 2-4 weeks. i know there's other vendors that have IGN-1A kit also but i wanted a kit that mount in the stock location. hopefully everything will go well.

IR is getting smoked on Facebook. Multiple people sharing similar experiences, it’s very disheartening. Especially considering that they’re only 20 minutes from me. Guess Ill drive the extra hour down to Jim at JPR

I was one of the people on Facebook with an engine order over 2 years now waiting, I messaged them awhile back on Facebook( about the only place I can get a response back) they said they would look into it and message me back that was Sept 22 still no reply back. My thing isn't that it has taken 2 years and waiting it's that they completely stopped communication with me won't reply to emails and won't even answer the phone anymore. I don't believe it's 100percent on them but just the way they are handling it.

Same issue

My thoughts are the same. Its not that they are trying to rip anyone off. Communication has been the problem from most people have messaged me about. I was told back in Sept ‘22 that I would be given refund. When they do message they dont follow through. Creates alot of frustration with people who have $1000’s out of pocket for a significant amount of time.

It may not be intentional, but with EGO it can get to the point if someone is going to close shop do you think they are worried about you? Your 1000s? Your 5k motor? Probably not.
Not everyone is like that, but the lack of communication is unacceptable. It shows I am better than you. My money is more important than your money. My time is more important than your time. I am above you and do not need to explain myself to you.
Pretty simple.

Even the biggest and best shops seem to fizzle out. IRP was one of the shops that was really helpful when Addicted bent me over for an engine rebuild, now this? It sucks because reputable rotary mechanics/vendors are getting fewer and further between. Here's one more to cross off the list I guess.

@trackjunkie, I'd cancel my order ASAP and call Sakebomb Garage for that ignition kit.

I also know that they were very short staffed at one point and I don't know how many others there are but in irp's defense when there are only few people working and many people to respond to it is rough. But you can always make a public statement say on Facebook or something that you are trying and update etc. Not just delete comments that pop up asking for answers and ghost them. Again not trying to really bash them I just want answers.
