What more can I do
I have no idea what else I can do. Small claims court in NJ is limited to $5k and I myself am not going to invest in a lawyer (by myself). I also live 23-2500 miles away. Can’t just show up and “check in”……I have heard from Paul and Ihor months ago and I felt “ok” about our conversation but not for much longer. Supposedly, from another source, these engines are months out from another batch coming to the USA.

they won’t let you back out, because somebody else got a refund it seems? I’m pretty sure they’re not out any money until it arrives and they get billed. That’s the messed up thing about their no cancellation policy. Pretty sure they can cancel the most recent order and just move everyone else up a spot. I can cancel my B/Os at any time.

I suspect that the money paid was used to pay vendors of other clients.
I still hope things work out. But also glad I didn't order the turbo kit that I was going to buy.

Wondering if anyone has even received an engine from them in the last 2 years.
I decided to put together an ordered list of people still waiting on an engine. I think it would be good if we all worked together to keep track of the waitlist.
Maybe it would be worth turning this into its own thread too.

Molotovman - Since you believe in the shop so much: Why don't you refund the unhappy customers for the time being? At a fee of course... No? Not a good idea? Yeah I thought as much... Talk is cheap so sit down and let these people handle their business.

I had a good experience with IRP this month. I purchase fuel pump relay and their Walbro pump to stock fuel hanger adapter. Everything came in quickly, but it was also all listed as in stock ready for immediate shipment. Best of luck to those of you who are still having issues. I was cautious before ordering due to this thread and the facebook groups. I really wanted that bracket vs buying a whole hanger and took the chance.

There's no need because Molotovman vouched for them to the point of arguing with multiple people . /Sarcasm

There's nothing wrong with encouraging people to substantiate or provide evidence of their issues, it strengthens their case. That's that what beansFD is trying to do with his list, is it not? No one else took the time to compile something like that and it is what I was encouraging; anecdotes just end up being hollow echoes after time.
How ridiculous to suggest for me to refund orders I had nothing to do with. Your post was dense, @Montego, and out of character.

Well,
My car has been there since the end of May 2022 for an engine rebuild mainly for low-oil pressure
They have had all the parts since December and it is March I got nothing.
I have to swing by to even get a conversation and was told to be expected by mid march but I have been calling Paul and have no answer so good luck everyone on reaching them
I left VM, Facebook messages, and Direct Text messages.
I think I'm the only dumbass who uses the RX8 daily and is not still out of the car and 10 grand out, that's my fault.
To be clear, the first few months of delays on parts are ALL MY FAULT.
I work at a Lexus dealership myself and I am also facing issues regards to the short staff and the availability of parts and I understand to a certain extent there are difficulties in the industry, and from other people's review they do a great job.
However most of my customers are satisfied and taken care of, and I handed about 350-400 customers a month. I don't have time to speak to everyone but I shoot a text message as soon as I have something new, or email.
It takes me about 10-15s to send one so customers are up to date, they have the system but I have no update.
Haven't seen my car, the only picture I have seen is ihor send me the milling done for RX7 apex seals.
I went by one day in Feb and was told it's hard to say for the schedule and he is trying to get my car done by mid march.
Paul explained that it is hard to estimate an exact time frame because there is only one gentleman that does all the rotary work and he will work on one type of car each time because RX7/RX8 parts are similar so he will have to focus on one type at a time and cannot be mixed. I spoke to multiple people who picked up their cars and have them there for about one year on average.
I just want a realistic time frame, a message update on where I am in line, and when I will get done.
It would be nice to have an excel sheet of all the customers so we can see where we are in the line, how many people are in front of us, and where we are in the process.
So I don't have to keep trying to call

10 grand?!?!? WTF?!! What kind of rebuild are you doing? 😳 Were a lot of parts no good?

The pricing is not even the main concern right now, I just want my car.
I provided a bunch of accessories parts, all new and known good brands, racing beat hose and koyo rad and coolant tank and stuff
The whole bill right now is about 13k, But I need my car back like asap
That's not even my main point now. I spend more money on renting a car I could've just bought a used car now and sell it I would lose less money.
My boss jokingly tells me that I won't see my car again but as days pass by it is worrying.

Dude I am so sorry for you! Now I see why people just swap their motors. I truly hope everything works out in your favor. Are you going to continue daily driving the rx8 once you get it back? If I were you I’d honestly just sell it but all that time and money already wasted is hard to fathom. I don’t know what else to say man… I’m truly sorry for you and everyone else who’s still waiting for their engines.
Custom headlights, carbon hood carbon trunk, GT Wing, it is my daily/weekend track car
Recaro seats with new seat covers, AP Racing 9440 Big brake kit
I already have Ohlins installed on the car and didn't have chance to do the corner balance before I sent it over
SO I REALLY WANT MY CAR BACK after all this time.

Look I'm not siding with the people who are complaining but I'm also not siding with the shop either. However, when multiple people are coming out with similar gripes it raises an eyebrow. So in those instances I find that it is best to simply stay out of it and let them sort it out between themselves. Especially since we weren't present at the time of transaction.

I get the no skin in the game comment, but there’s no good reason to be refusing a refund on engine orders 1 or more years old, even a day old, when they themselves won’t be charged until after it ships from the PDC. No penalty to cancel either. So in that case they can cancel out the most recent order and move those still willing to wait up a spot in the waiting line.
they are shipping what they have though. Not going to make any accusations or pin labels on them, but will say it’s not an ethically correct way to be treating customers or conducting business by making people pay in advance and to then be sitting on the payment when they’re not out even a penny.
Anyone who tries to stand up and attempt to justify that on their behalf is equally the same in my book.

Yeah, if you paid for one, I suggest you reach out to Ray Crowe and let him know your situation, he can make arrangements to probably get you one without having to-repay for it again through Mazda. If you have questions as to why this is the case feel free to reach out to me I'll be happy to talk about my own experience with the ordering process for individuals who buy through Ray, vs re-sellers who buy batches of engines through Ray or directly from another Mazda dealer.
