IR Performance use CAUTION
#452
I have heard the bad employee story and this might be true but Ihor reached out to me in august saying he would fix the situation. He has since ghosted me and I have no way to get ahold of him. He is completely aware of my situation and is choosing not to fix it or even communicate with me on next steps.

When I was able to get in touch I learned that this whole thing is a mess and I'm under the impression litigation is already being pursued against the former employee who effectively tanked the shop and it's reputation. The guy started doing business as a false LLC with a DBA similar to the real one for IR Performance, selling parts completely separately from the actual business. He was able to open the additional accounts and card machines because of his position with the company without the owner's knowledge, after he was caught he destroyed as much as he could on the way out so internal records/invoices don't exist for unfulfilled purchases. I believe this is the case for legitimate orders as well as the fake ones. That is why some folks have gotten their parts without much difficulty, some have received parts or refunds after getting in touch, and others have been left in wait.
Basically, the former employee spoofed the business and stole money from a lot of people.
I was told the best thing to do is to try to get in touch with the shop with a copy of your invoice and payment history to have a conversation about what can be done which has already been stated here.

That does make more sense but I still dont believe it. Selling parts under another LLC does not explain the poor communication and years of waiting for cars to be finished. Sounds like excuses, even if that did happen.

If anyone did that to my hypothetical business, that information would not be something some random forum dude relayed to my customers.
Where are the communication?
I mean the second this was unveiled, i would go wide with com asking everywhere that potential victims of the fraud come forth and contact me or the police, making sure the information was available and easy to find so that there can be legal actions and lawsuits filed against the person.
And given the potential legal pitfalls involved when an insider is doing this, i would for my part try my best to make sure my customers are not paying for my mistakes in having bad employees.
So yes, it still sounds like complete bullshit because if this was in fact the case, IRP is doing **** all to make sure every victim have a possibility to make informed decisions.

Sounds like a typical BS excuse to me. A reputable establishment would address that head on - at very least a professional letter explaining the situation and clear information on how to resolve things. This should be sent out to all customers in the address book/etc, especially those who have reached out with concerns recently.
Website is down, calls are not being answered.. Pick up your **** or file your chargebacks.

Here's the icing on the cake. Go ahead and sue them. Start a class action. The LLC goes bankrupt and everybody is fucked but IRP. GL TO ALL!
Go pick up your ******* cars!

My bank refunded my purchase, thankfully. 10 points to Navy Federal. Two days after that I get this message
"Hi Jeffery, unfortunately the Turn14 and BorgWarner is not producing the orders quick enough. Our most recent eta from BorgWarner is 2/25/2024 but this date has been moved out at least 6 times since our inventory order was place 2/10/2022. We do see there is a chargeback and unfortunately we will be forced to allocate your unit ordered to another pending order. Sorry for the inconvenience"
So it takes them losing the money to actually contact, and then have a lame excuse.
If inventory was such an issue - why keep taking orders? Their order was Feb of 2022, I placed mine in Feb of '23.
I think I'm going to use the refund to rebuild the original 120k mile motor, then get a turbo from somewhere that isn't sketchy.

It is really sad to see all of this, both for the screwed customers and for the shop owner(s) who are obviously struggling. Way back (early 2000's) IRP was, IMO, one of the most trusted and competent shops. Up until this doodoo started to hit the fan I thought that if I ever needed any major work on my FD, that IRP would be my 1st choice.

Ihor is just an absolute thief and scumbag. He has had plenty of opportunities to communicate with the customers he owes. He’s the kind of guy that Karma will get in the future!
