We have installed two Mazda crate motors so far and owners are happy campers.
Once you know the drill the only unknown is usually the condition of peripherals.

Maybe it would be worth turning this into its own thread too.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • @Fakieskater -----Ordered Oct 2020, Not received
  • @Parcham79 -----Ordered Mar 2021, Not received
  • NDVR ------------------Ordered Apr 2021, Refunded
  • @mazda2nvblue Ordered Aug 2021, Not received
  • @trident -----------Ordered Aug 2021, Not received
  • @ltbigtoe ----------Ordered Sept 2021, Not received.
I never received a motor from IR. I ended up buying one from Mazdatrix, and Paul grudgingly let me apply the money I already paid toward more parts-definitely wasn’t getting a refund. Still waiting on a refund for the hall trigger sensor they never shipped… I also had to buy that from another vendor FFE direct. I don’t plan on ever doing business with IR again- good luck to those of you who have money tied up on that place.

🤬

Message from a friend today who ordered his engine around 6 months after I did…..he got a call from the dealer saying his engine will be delivered next week. No extra charges like the bullshit we have been told from Paul at IRP. Most likely the same “dealership” as IR supposedly orders from….we have been robbed. I don’t know whats going on over there but its not good. Lies after lies we are being told. Told me that Mazda wont issue refunds on engine orders after July of 2021. What dealership do you know of charges the entire cost up front on an order? Specifically from a shop. Just pissed off!! They offered to build me an engine at an additional cost also, really? Additional cost for a used ******* engine? 🖕🏼 I told them I was already building one because they couldn’t deliver on a sale that they made. Paul said “send me your plates and we will build it for you and only charge you anything over your original purchase” 🤯 why in the hell would I send you Parts that cost me money with an almost guarantee of additional charges? I am not that *******.

I took some time to contact some shops and have found out that engines have been consistently coming in every 2-3 months. On top of this, the other shops were not requiring the engine to be paid off in full to get put on the order list.
At this point it really seems like IRP has scammed us out of our money.

They’ve got time to post pics of engines on their instagram. Maybe they can reply to you here and clarify. Seems like they’ve got 2 engines as least based on this pic haha.

That's not a new engine, super clean used engine that's gone through the vaporhone. I'm at a loss with IR or why he'd let this ruin his reputation. There's been a couple things recently like the brazing of an incorrectly milled rotor in an engine build that went to a customer. But this one is easily fixable. Either sue the crap outta the dealer that ordered the engines or give people their money back. I still recommend everyone that's wanting a new OEM Mazda engine go directly to Mazda and not work with resellers who are just buying the same thing you can buy directly from Ray Crowe or your local Mazda dealer. You're just inserting another layer of "No Refunds regardless of delays". At least with a Mazda dealer you have a level of recourse through your credit card and jurisdiction in small claims court.

New 13b rew’s

FYI. FDAUTO is advertising that they have been receiving their engine orders in about a month…….not 1 1/2 to 2 yrs. They even go into explaining the entire purchase and shipping options.

Just curious as to why anyone would order a motor through any company except Mazda themselves? Unless your having the shop open it? Even then? I ordered through Ray and had it shipped to Kilo for porting and swapping APEX seals.

^Exactly! Buying a new 13B-REW from Mazda direct via Ray is the smart way to go. You'll get the best pricing, and he can have it shipped to whatever shop is doing the work or to your door. And if you live within road trip distance of the NuCar Mazda dealership in New Castle, DE, you can arrange with Ray to pick it up there and save on shipping/sales tax (DE is a no sales tax state)

Man wish I didn't have to pay taxes and shipping! And yea, not sure why anyone would order from anybody but Ray or Mazda Motorsport. I placed my order last week and with tax and shipping it is below $5k. Also not sure where the 1 month time frame come from, I called Mazda Motorsport after placing the order and they said you ain't getting it for awhile

According to the list I made which has seemed to be accurate so far,
if you ordered in September of 2021, unfortunately that puts you at 5th on the list and @Fakieskater is first.

It's a good sign that engines are actually coming in though.

Please report back if they finally contact you guys about shipping though.

I don't think anyone ever answered my question. If your buying a crated motor why would you buy it through anyone but Mazda themselves? Especially, when they say no refunds lol
